Carson Boatman is leaving Days of Our Lives and the role of Johnny DiMera, news that first hit fans at the start of the year. As many of you know, he’s one of four actors who were let go as the show returned from its holiday hiatus.
That said, because the show tapes so far in advance, Boatman’s on-screen exit won’t actually happen until early 2027.
Boatman Eyes a Move to GH
Even with that timeline, it looks like Boatman already has his eye on what could come next, and that includes ABC’s General Hospital.
In a new interview with Soap Hub, he opened up about the possibility, sharing that he’s incredibly grateful for his time on Days.
“I will forever be grateful for the time that I got to spend on Days of Our Lives. It truly is a special place,” he said. “I hope to grace Salem with Johnny’s presence again in the future if they’ll have me.”
At the same time, he didn’t shy away from talking about other opportunities.
“I would love a jump to GH as well. I’m absolutely open to seeing what life is like in Port Charles.”
Check. It’s not hard to imagine him fitting into a few roles there.
Music and What’s Next
Since stepping away from the Peacock soap, Boatman has been focusing more on his music career. He even released a new single called Wild Thing, which has already been seeing solid success.
So it’s safe to say there could be more music on the way from the actor and singer, who is also part of The Day Players band, made up of past and present cast members from the show.
Boatman first debuted on Days of Our Lives back in 2021 when Johnny returned to Salem as an adult. He’s among four cast members who were let go, including Raven Bowens (Chanel), Leo Howard (Tate), and Ashley Puzemis (Holly).
