For many actors, the journey to Hollywood is a winding road filled with “no’s,” but for Leven Rambin, it all started with a leap of faith at just 14 years old. In a recent nostalgic Instagram post, the actress shared memories of the role that helped define her early career: playing the lovable Lily Montgomery on the legendary soap All My Children.

A Life Changing Audition

Rambin recalls traveling to Los Angeles with her mother for a brief trial run of Auditions. In a “Lightning in a bottle” moment, she lands the role of Lilty in her first try, and what was to be a temporary trip turns into a four-year residency in New York City. Where she essentially grew up in front of billions of viewers.

With a carousel of throwback images, Rambin wrote, “My favorite role so far. At 14, my mom and I temporarily moved to LA just to try auditioning — no big plan, just curiosity and hope. Somehow that leap led to my very first audition ever… for Lily Montgomery on All My Children! I booked it & that moment changed everything. We relocated to NYC for four years, and my high school years were spent on set doing what I loved, learning as I went. Scary at times but exhilarating.

Growing up in Pine Valley

Playing Lily Montgomery wasn’t just an acting gig; she portrayed Lily as a teenager with Autism, a role that earned her two daytime Emmy nominations. Rambin later showcased her amazing. Range by playing her own “evil-ish” “half sister” Ava Benton.

Lily’s Legacy

While Rambin has gone on to star in major blockbusters like The Hunger Games (as fierce Glimmer) and Percy Jackson, Sea of Monsters, Rambin still has a special place in her heart for soap opera roots. Leven remains one of her favourite roles, joining the thousands of viewers wishing it was now available on streaming platforms.

She shared, “I got to work with some truly incredible people, and I also had the chance to play Lily’s devilish half-sister, Ava Benton — a character I’ll always have a soft spot for. Still, Lily remains my favorite role to this day. I wish more than anything that you could stream the show somewhere and revisit that era. It may not have been a typical teenage experience, but I wouldn’t trade it for the world. If you’ve been supporting me since the AMC days, thank you. I see you and appreciate you so much.”
