Fans of General Hospital were left reeling after the heartbreaking March 25 episode where Marco (Adrian Anchondo) tragically succumbed to his injuries.
While viewers saw the emotional fallout on screen, what many may not realize is just how much work went into making Marco’s stabbing scene look so realistic. From prosthetics to makeup effects, the entire FX team collaborated to bring this dramatic storyline to life.
Thanks to makeup artist Priscilla Castro-Preciado, fans got a peek behind the curtain.
In an Instagram post featuring a carousel of behind-the-scenes photos from the set of General Hospital Season 63, Episode 134, Priscilla shared the intricate process that went into creating Marco’s injuries. She wrote:
“General Hospital Season 63 Episode 134. Marco’s injury makeup was a group collaboration from the entire FX team (Alie, Priscilla, and Wendy) – and we could not be prouder.
Thank you to our General Hospital family of Directors, Producers, and our Makeup Department Head Karol for continuing to trust our vision and letting us use so much blood on daytime television.
Thank you Adrian, for being so patient and open to the entire makeup process, you made our job so easy. Huge shoutout to Sam, thank you for all your help – and for documenting the entire thing, we couldn’t have done it without you.”
This post highlighted the teamwork and attention to detail that went into the episode. Marco’s injuries were designed to look realistic but safe for the actor. The FX team worked closely with Adrian Anchondo to make sure everything went right. From the stab wounds to the blood effects, all looked believable on camera.
Marco’s Death on GH: The Storyline
On the show, Marco was stabbed multiple times by Cullum. Despite Isaiah’s efforts in the operating room, Marco lost a significant amount of blood. In the end, his life could not be saved.
Elizabeth was the bearer of the devastating news, as she relayed the same to Lucas Jones that his beloved Marco was no longer alive.
