Stacy Haiduk is returning to The Young and the Restless as Patty Williams this March, according to TV Insider. The news marks her first appearance on the CBS daytime drama since 2016. Fans should note that even with the Y&R comeback, Haiduk will continue appearing on Days of Our Lives as Kristen DiMera.
Longtime fans will remember that the three-time Daytime Emmy nominee first joined Y&R in 2009 as Patty. Not long after, she also took on the role of Patty’s doppelganger, Dr. Emily Peterson. After exiting the show in 2010, Haiduk made several returns, first from 2011 to 2012, then again in 2015, before her most recent exit in 2016.
Patty Williams’ Long History in Genoa City
Patty Williams has never been a quiet presence in Genoa City. The character was first introduced in 1980 as the younger sister of Paul Williams, played by Doug Davidson. At the time, the role was portrayed by Tammy Taylor.
Over the years, Patty became known for chaos, manipulation, and dangerous behavior, making her one of the show’s most unpredictable characters and a constant source of trouble.
What brings Patty back now?
For now, the details behind Patty’s return are being kept under wraps. However, what is known is that her return will come with plenty of mystery and suspense.
Speaking to TV Insider, executive producer and head writer Josh Griffith shared his excitement, saying, “Everyone at Y&R couldn’t be more excited to welcome back Stacy for this exciting storyline when trouble once again finds Patty.”
Outside of her work on Y&R and Days of Our Lives, Haiduk also appeared on All My Children, where she played Hannah Nicholson from 2007 to 2008.
