We recently reported that production had begun on the Showtime pilot ‘How to Make Love to a Black Woman’ (Who May Be Working Through Some Sh*t). Now there is additional casting news, being reported by Variety.
Tony award-winner Tonya Pinkins, Mario Van Peebles (New Jack City), director and veteran actor, and newcomer Amandla Jahava have joined the cast. Peebles will play Sam, a nice stranger that connects with Rashida (Jahava), a young lady experiencing an unexpected loss. Rashida’s mother, Florence, played by Pinkins, is keeping a secret from her daughter.
As previously reported it is a comedy anthology series telling stories,” about connection and rejection that explore our most harrowing and harrowingly comic sexual secrets.”
The project is being produced by Lena Waithe.
