Newly married Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson) might want to prepare himself. Because AlexAnn Hopkins is officially back. The actress reprises her role as Joy Wesley beginning April 24 on Days of Our Lives, and her return could seriously shake things up for Alex and Stephanie (Abigail Klein).
In a teaser shared on the show’s official social pages, Hopkins appears in a video saying, “Hi, my name is AlexAnn, and I play Joy. Surprise. I am back. You thought Joy was gone. She’s back in Salem. To find out why, you’ll have to tune into Peacock.”
Safe to say, drama is afoot.
Why AlexAnn Hopkins’ Return Is a Big Deal
AlexAnn Hopkins originally appeared as Joy Wesley from October 22, 2024, through March 19, 2025. Joy is the grown daughter of Nancy (Patrika Darbo) and Craig Wesley (Kevin Spirtas), and her storyline quickly became complicated once she got involved with Alex Kiriakis.
Joy developed real feelings for Alex. The problem was that he had moved on with Stephanie Johnson.
Then came the pregnancy twist.
Joy learned she was pregnant but decided she did not want to deal with the chaos of co-parenting while Alex built a life with someone else. So she told him the pregnancy test was negative and left for New York.
But viewers know the truth.
She left Salem with a bun in the oven.
Now that AlexAnn Hopkins is returning, the big question is obvious. Is Joy coming back alone, or is she bringing Alex’s child with her?
If she shows up with a baby, Alex’s brand-new marriage could be tested immediately. Stephanie may love Alex, but that kind of surprise would rattle anyone.
