A new romantic adventure is officially underway. Production has begun on Paris Is Always a Good Idea, a six-episode limited series starring and executive-produced by Hallmark favorite Lacey Chabert. She’s joined by Scott Michael Foster, Rebecca Hanssen, Henry Czerny, and Barbara Niven.

Based on the bestselling romance novel of the same name by Jenn McKinlay, the series is currently shooting on location in Paris and Spain.

That alone makes it feel like a must-watch already.

A Story of Love, Loss, and Second Chances

Chabert plays career-driven nonprofit executive Chelsea Martin, who travels to Paris alongside her confident rival-turned-ally Jason Knightly, played by Foster, to secure a major donation.

But what starts as a business trip quickly turns personal.

A heartfelt message from Chelsea’s late mother, along with encouragement from her sister Annabelle, played by Hanssen, sends her on an emotional journey. Chelsea sets out to reconnect with the three great loves she once left behind.

From the rolling hills of Ireland to the magic of Paris and the sun-soaked vineyards of Spain, Chelsea retraces her past in hopes of finding her future.

A Strong Creative Team Behind the Scenes

The series is produced by Dynamic Television and Clapperboard Studios.

Executive producers include Carrie Stein, Daniel March, Mike Benson, Rachel Gesua, Heidi Cole McAdams, and Lauren Muir, who also serves as showrunner. Chabert also executive produces the project. The series is written by McAdams and Muir and is based on McKinlay’s novel.

Michelle Vicary, Head of Programming at Hallmark Media, shared excitement about the project, noting that viewers will follow Chelsea on a journey of self-discovery, healing, and unforgettable romance.

With a beloved leading lady, international locations, and a story built around second chances, Paris Is Always a Good Idea is shaping up to be one of Hallmark’s most anticipated romantic events of the season.
