There is nothing quite like watching your favorite daytime dramas and suddenly seeing one of your go-to stars pop up during the commercial break. If you were tuned into Beyond the Gates today, you probably did a double-take when Karla Mosley graced your screen in a brand-new, reflective ad spot with Humana!
Mosley, who brings all the drama, charm, and chaos as Dani Dupree—the absolute wild child of the Dupree family—sat down for a special “looking back, looking ahead” feature that gave fans a sweet peek behind the scenes.
Karla Mosley Surprises Beyond the Gates Fans With New Humana Feature
Reflecting on her journey from the stage and television to her latest home in Atlanta, Mosley shared how walking onto the Beyond the Gates set felt like an absolute homecoming.
Mosley opened up about how much she loves leaning into Dani’s messy, unpredictable side. She even calls Dani a quintessential soap character. She’s messy, unpredictable, outspoken, and never exactly short on drama. In other words, she’s everything we want from a daytime soap character!
Along with celebrating the show, the spot highlighted how Humana makes navigating Medicare Advantage easier. Mosley noted that keeping up with health is all about making sure she has the energy to maintain the active, vibrant lifestyle she envisions for her future.
If you’ve been watching daytime for years, then of course, you know Beyond the Gates isn’t where Mosley’s soap opera journey began.
In fact, longtime soap fans will remember her as Christina on Guiding Light. And she made history as Maya Avant on The Bold and the Beautiful, and for a minute, she briefly played Amanda Sinclair on The Young and the Restless. Girl can command literally any canvas she steps onto.
Added to that, Mosley recently earned her very first Daytime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series.
Although the award ultimately went to her on-screen mother, Tamara Tunie (Anita Dupree), the nomination was still a big moment.
