Alicia Minshew is celebrating her 48th birthday today!
Minshew was born on May 28, 1974, in Plantation, Florida. Her mother is of Italian descent. Having aspirations to become an actress, Minshew set out for the career path some time after graduating from South Fork High School in Stuart, Florida. In October 2008, Minshew married Richie Herschenfeld, a New York City restaurant owner who is also the best friend of actor Thorsten Kaye, her long-time on-screen husband. She is close friends with co-star Rebecca Budig. Minshew and her husband welcomed the birth of their daughter Willow Lenora Herschenfeld on November 4, 2009
Alicia Minshew, who is most known for her work in daytime television, started acting in high school performing in plays like Grease, Kiss Me Kate, and Nunsense. Alicia also appeared in commercials before landing the role of Erica Kane’s daughter, Kendall Hart, on All My Children.
The role was originated by Sarah Michelle Gellar in 1993. Alicia was recast as Kendall in 2002 and portrayed the leading soap heroine through AMC’s television finale. Kendall and Alicia made a brief return to Pine Valley on the online Prospect Park version in 2013. Alicia’s Kendall is one-half of the soap’s supercouple; Zach (Thorsten Kaye) and Kendall also known as “Zendall.”
After All My Children, Alicia’s acting work has included the film Desires of the Heart, the soap opera web series Tainted Dreams, and the soap opera web series Beacon Hill where Alicia was nominated for a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Performer in a New Approaches Drama Series for her role as Sara Preston.
Recently it was announced that Alicia would be starring in a series adaptation of Wholly Broken, a faith-based, musical film that she did a few years ago. Alicia is also co-producer of the upcoming film, Eltingville, a coming-of-age family story based in Staten Island, NY in the late 80s about organized crime.
