All American is a sports drama that airs on The CW Network. In its most recent episode that aired this week, General Hospital was featured. One of the characters, Coop (Bre-Z), got a job at a nursing home and one of the residents they met was a huge fan of General Hospital.
The resident was watching the episode where Nina (Cynthia Watros) and Sonny (Maurice Benard) talk about how Nina’s lies affected Sonny’s life, particularly Carly (Laura Wright) and Jason (Steve Burton) getting married. Coop mentioned that their mother is a fan and Coop initially thought soap operas were too over the top. The resident eventually convinced Coop that life lessons can be learned from soap operas. One example the resident gave was that even though Carly had every right to be mad at Nina for what she’s done, Carly’s downfall was that she’s too impulsive in her reactions. Coop winded up binging General Hospital and applied some of the lessons they learned from the resident and the show to help resolve the issues they were facing with their friends.
Soap fans will recognize other soap stars in this episode including; Kamar de los Reyes (Antonio, One Life To Live) and Sean Carrigan (ex-Stitch, The Young & The Restless).
