Matthew Atkinson is having the time of his life being back on daytime soaps as Thomas Forrester on The Bold and the Beautiful. He first got his kickstart on soaps when he was cast in the role of Austin Travers on The Young and the Restless in 2014.
Now that he’s back on soaps, his character is entangled in a dangerous web that could cause him to lose the woman he so desperately wants, forever. But, in real-life, Atkinson is enjoying a blissful romance with actress, Karissa Lee Staples with whom he met on the set of a Lifetime movie called Inspired to Kill where he played Jason and she played Kara.
In the new SOD magazine, Atkinson talks his real-life romance stating, “We met doing a movie for Lifetime about three-and-a-half years ago called INSPIRED TO KILL. She played a crazy person. I think our first day together on set. she was chasing me around with a knife. I like the crazy ones, so that just worked out really well (laughs). I’m kidding. She’s actually one of the sweetest human beings I’ve ever met. We hung out a little after the movie and months later, we reconnected and got together. We were friends who just developed naturally into a relationship. It was nothing that I really had experienced before but that’s how it happened for us.”
