Soap operas are the ultimate fun escape, and as daytime fans, we love debating the “what-ifs.”
We recently ran a poll asking our readers a crucial question: If you found yourself caught up in a crisis, which daytime attorney would you hire to save your skin?
We gave voters several options across all five current daytime dramas: Beyond the Gates, Days of Our Lives, General Hospital, The Bold and the Beautiful, and The Young and the Restless. The final numbers are officially in, and the winner absolutely blew away the competition.
Diane Miller Takes the Top Spot
Coming in at number one was none other than Diane Miller from General Hospital, played by Carolyn Hennesy.
Diane is known around Port Charles as a sharp-witted, fearless attorney who rarely loses a case. Over the years, she has represented major players like Sonny Corinthos and Jason Morgan, making her one of the most respected legal minds in daytime television.
Fans clearly trust her because she dominated the poll with an impressive 47.09% of the votes.
Coming in right behind Diane is Genoa City’s favorite legal eagle, Michael Baldwin from The Young and the Restless.
Portrayed by the talented Christian LeBlanc since 1991, Michael has evolved from a dark, obsessive stalker into a witty, fiercely loyal powerhouse. He frequently acts as counsel for Victor Newman and other core families.
Michael secured a strong second-place finish with 14.06% of the vote.
Beyond the Gates and Days Make the List
Coming in third place was one of the newer names on daytime television: Bill Hamilton from Beyond the Gates, played by Timon Kyle Durrett.
Bill is known as a charismatic and calculated criminal defense attorney living in the wealthy community of Fairmont Crest. He walked away with 6.13% of the vote.
Right on his heels is Salem’s own EJ DiMera from Days of Our Lives, played by Dan Feuerriegel. EJ captured 5.79% of the vote. He is known for high-stakes business moves, complex romances with Sami Brady, and his ruthless yet charming way of handling courtroom battles.
Rounding out the top five is another Port Charles favorite, Alexis Davis from General Hospital. Played by Nancy Lee Grahn, Alexis is a prominent attorney who has won countless cases for the residents of Port Charles. She got 4.30% of the fan vote.
What About The Bold and the Beautiful?
While The Bold and the Beautiful did not crack the top five, the show’s top vote-getter was Carter Walton, played by Lawrence Saint-Victor. Carter actually tied for the number six spot with Port Charles’ Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst from General Hospital).
At the end of the day, soap fans clearly have strong opinions about who they would trust during a crisis.
But now we want to know: who would you have voted for?
