Actress Cecelia Specht is about to shake things up in daytime television.
The actress is set to guest star on the CBS daytime drama Beyond the Gates in a 20-episode run that places her right at the center of the action. Specht will make her debut beginning Friday, February 13, at 2:00 p.m. ET and 1:00 p.m. PT on CBS, with her storyline continuing through May 26.

Cecelia Specht’s Career
Cecelia Specht’s career path is anything but ordinary.
An actress, director, writer, and producer with more than 30 years of experience, Specht did not originally set out to work in entertainment. She grew up in Santa Cruz, California, and began her professional life in politics after earning a degree in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley.
Everything changed after she took an acting class on a whim.
That single decision inspired Specht to audition for several New York acting programs, and she was accepted into three. Taking a leap of faith, she moved across the country, a choice that ultimately reshaped her future.
She later became a life member of the famed Actors Studio and was part of the very first graduating class of the Actors Studio’s MFA program at The New School University.
Specht’s journey then took her overseas. After relocating to Australia, she landed her first television role on the long-running daytime series Neighbours.
While there, she also co-founded the theater company Boxing Day Productions, where she directed, produced, and acted in nearly a dozen stage productions.
Her first American screen credit came with a supporting role in the Disney Channel feature Stepsister from Planet Weird.
From there, her career continued to build with appearances on a wide range of popular television series and films, including Star Trek: Enterprise, Las Vegas, Criminal Minds, Zoey 101, Life, Dexter, Parks and Recreation, Revenge, Castle, Scandal, and Being Mary Jane.
Daytime viewers may also recognize her from roles on The Young and the Restless and Days of Our Lives.
Specht has often gravitated toward comedic roles and complex villains, characters that allow her to explore the darker and more layered sides of human nature.
That creative interest also carried over into her work behind the camera. She wrote, produced, directed, and starred in the web series Today’s Temp, which earned critical attention on the comedy platform Funny or Die.
Outside of acting, Specht is a devoted fan of classic cinema, a strong supporter of emerging filmmakers, and a regular attendee of live theater. She occasionally performs in live murder mystery shows in Atlanta and, when time allows, coaches and mentors fellow actors.
Her passions extend well beyond the arts. Specht volunteers at a local animal shelter and has completed four Olympic-distance triathlons in support of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
She currently resides in Smyrna, Georgia, and is now bringing her depth and experience to daytime once again with her role on Beyond the Gates.
