Deep Musical Roots Off-Screen
It’s no surprise that Lami and RhonniRose delivered such a polished performance—both stars boast impressive musical backgrounds!

Music has been part of his life since childhood, having started playing the drums at just three years old. Prior to stepping into the role of Izaiah on Beyond the Gates, he made a name for himself in television drama with roles on Tyler Perry’s Sistas, All American, and Bloody Famous.
Meanwhile, RhonniRose Mantilla is a true triple threat as a singer, dancer, and actress. She began dancing at the age of four and went on to study musical theatre at Baldwin Wallace University. After graduating in 2022, she joined the pre-Broadway production of The Notebook at the Chicago Shakespeare Theater. She then went on to perform in the Broadway production of Harmony, the national tour of Into the Woods, and numerous regional theatre productions.
