The Duprees Prepare for Cotillion

It is almost time for another major event in Fairmont Crest, and as usual, the Duprees are right at the center of it all.

The powerful family that reigns over the heart of the DMV is currently caught up in a whirlwind as they prepare for Samantha’s (Najah Jackson) long-awaited cotillion.

While Samantha is trying to focus on winning the coveted “platinum debutante” prize, she is also carrying a lot of emotional weight.

Recently, she was moved to tears by her own brother, and that came shortly after dealing with bullying from the Belleclaires.

So, will the cotillion turn out to be the elegant affair the Duprees are hoping for, or will the Belleclaires crash the party and create total chaos?

Jacob Heads Into Dangerous Territory

Meanwhile, Jacob Hawthorne (Jibre Hordges) is stepping deeper into dangerous territory.

After spending months infiltrating the plasma red market ring alongside Smitty (Mike Manning), Jacob is finally preparing to meet with Ren (Donny Carrington) once again, all while operating under his disguise as “Rashad.”

At this point, Jacob is hopeful the operation may finally be nearing its end after recently uncovering some key intel.

Still, Ren’s violent history makes this mission incredibly risky. Jacob desperately wants to shut the entire operation down, but he may be walking straight into the lion’s den or not…

Bill Starts Digging Into Hayley’s Past

Elsewhere, Bill Hamilton (Timon Kyle Durrett) is taking a break from legal battles and getting very personal.

For weeks now, Bill has been suspicious of certain people in his inner circle, especially Lynette Wise (Dominique Madison). Now, though, his attention is shifting directly toward Hayley (Marquita Goings).

Bill has serious questions about her past, and considering what viewers already know, Hayley has every reason to be nervous.

The big issue? She has spent years conning men, and if Bill uncovers the truth, things could get very messy.

But knowing Hayley, when the questions start coming, she will find a way to keep lying through her teeth.

After all, it’s what she does best.

Ashley Continues to Spiral

Then there is Ashley Morgan (Jen Jacob), who is officially unraveling.

Ever since Grayson (Jordi Vilasuso) was stabbed and warned her that she was being watched, Ashley has been living in constant fear. She is trying her best to hold it together at work, but emotionally, she is hanging on by a thread.

Meanwhile, Grayson is preparing for the worst.

He remains trapped under Lia Whitmore’s (Cecelia Specht) control after she recently made it painfully clear that there is “no out” for him.

Lia Turns the Heat on Derek

Speaking of Lia, Beyond the Gates spoilers for May 18 tease that she is about to put someone else directly in the hot seat.

After weeks of making threats and manipulating almost everyone around her, Lia now shifts her focus toward Derek Baldwin (Ben Gavin).

So, what exactly is she hoping to accomplish?

Knowing Lia, whatever she has planned probably will not end well for anyone involved.
