Beyond the Gates spoilers for Tuesday, October 13, 2026, tease that Ted (Keith D. Robinson) and Shanice’s (Ernestine Johnson) engagement stands to ruffle a few feathers, while the Richardson-Smith siblings’ll quibble and the Richardson-Smith hubbies find themselves on opposite sides. Meanwhile, Naomi (Arielle Prepetit) will cut Jacob (Jibre Hordges) to the quick and Heather (Ashley Jones) will just cut.
We’ll find Martin (Brandon Claybon) up with Smitty (Mike Manning) down, Tyrell (Jaden Lucas Miller) facing Samantha (Najah Jackson), and Jacob being roadblocked by Naomi. Elsewhere in the DMV, Shanice gets help. Plus, Ted gets a surprising attitude from Nicole (Daphnee Duplaix) — and Carlton (Robert Christopher Riley) will definitely get the point!
Here’s a Soap Opera News breakdown of what to expect on Tuesday’s episode.
Key Takeaways
- Martin waits for big news, while Smitty waits in shame.
- Nicole does an about-face with Ted.
- Naomi shuts Jacob down.
- Samantha challenges Tyrell.
- Ashley steps in when Shanice is overwhelmed.
- Carlton’s dalliance with Heather takes a sharp turn.
Pretty Hurts
For a kid in college, Tyrell’s sure home a lot — and he had the audacity to show up to the big Dupree homecoming game party with that skank Francesca (Madison Alsobrook) on his arm! So much for him wanting Jessica (Camryn Jade) to be his ride-or-die for life; he got over her quickly.
It may take longer for him to heal from the beatdown Samantha is surely about to give him. She had to be restrained from attacking the brat who tried to sabotage her cotillion last week, but it looks like she’ll get a chance to confront Tyrell alone now. Did Tyrell think he was going to be able to date his sister’s arch nemesis and not get an earful about it? Did Tyrell hear “Chessy” and think the nickname being one letter off from his beloved chess made her his destiny?
It Wasn’t Me
With Martin’s seat in Congress up for grabs (too bad we never see him campaigning, debating, or politicking!), he’ll be anticipating a major update. Unfortunately, whatever it is, Smitty will be down in the dumps about it.
We already know Bradley considers himself a liability to Martin’s re-election because of the whispers that he had something to do with Lia Whitmore’s death (thanks a lot, Heather, for that fake video). Wonder what the awaited news is, though?
It’s too early for Election Day. Maybe it has something to do with the Orphey Gene’s stump event the marrieds talked about last week? Unless Smitty’s shame concerns only ever wearing maroon, olive, or navy blue. Try a pastel, Smits!
Since Jacob and Naomi aren’t battling over BRCA or babies anymore, if they’re having words, it’s likely about the investigation into whether Smitty did something to Lia (Cecelia Specht) that caused her to not be alive anymore.
Whatever’s up, Naomi, in character, won’t be having it. And the feeling is that Jacob will be left feeling somewhat emasculated. You know what? Jacob should be able to tell Smitty is being misrepresented in that security clip — he’s the same guy who saw that Leslie’s (Trisha Mann-Grant) helmet had the same scratch that the one Laura’s (Destiny Love) assailant was wearing did. Maybe Jacob needs to have Kat (Colby Nixon) study Smitty’s vid frame by frame. She always gets better results than Jacob does, anyway!
Blood on the Dance Floor
Didn’t it look like Nicole would be proposing to Kial (Greg Vaughan) the same time Ted was proposing to Shanice in the Big Apple! Psyche! Only Shanice emerged from that evening with an engagement ring, and it’ll be hard to hide from her fellow staffers at Garland Memorial.
In fact, something will happen where Ashley (Jen Jacob) will be required to step in, and it’s probably not because Shanice has to tell a disgruntled patient that the cafeteria has no more tapioca. Could it have something to do with Nicole getting wind of the bling on Shanice’s finger? That would be a good reason for Nicole to do a flip-flop on Ted — she was cool with him dating Shanice before, but could the finality of him taking a different wife have her spiraling a bit?
Naughty Nikki better not trip, especially not when she just gave that furry fella Kial her house key. Besides, it’s Nicole’s other ex who’s going to have bigger problems. Thought Carlton impaling The Impaler was just a one-night fling?
Guess we’re going into at least two, because the good doctor Fitzgerald will be getting with Heather once again. They have one thing in common: they both know about blood…and Heather may just draw some, whippin’ out that knife and cutting Carlton’s shirt open like we saw in the most recent week-ending preview! Just an S&M-type move, or will Heather be taking out her Joey (Jon Lindstrom) frustration out on Carlton…in chunks?
