Billy Flynn (Cane Ashby, The Young and the Restless) is feeling grateful to have shared the screen with Tristan Rogers in what turned out to be the legendary actor’s final television appearance. Rogers, who passed away on August 15 after a battle with lung cancer, left a lasting impact on the soap community. Ahead of the emotional episode airing on August 26, Flynn took to social media to share a heartfelt message, honoring Rogers’ talent and spirit, even though their time together was brief.

In an Instagram story, Flynn wrote, “Tomorrow is a very special episode. I didn’t know Tristan as well as Daniel or the rest of the cast that were lucky enough to know him over the years. I am grateful and honored to have worked with such an amazing man and brilliant actor.”

Flynn only joined the cast of Y&R earlier this year, making his debut in the June 19 episode as the son of Colin, Tristan’s character. Daniel Goddard, who originally played Cane and now appears as Professor Henry Dalton on General Hospital, also paid tribute to Rogers after the news of his passing. He shared a carousel of behind-the-scenes photos along with a touching caption:

“Mate, I just heard the news, and I’m shocked. I want you to know how much you meant to not just me but everyone that had the fortune of being in your presence. You were a trailblazer, doing what no other Australian had done, and after all these years, you were still everybody’s mate. You were kind, with one of the driest senses of humour I’ve ever known, and I caught every joke, no matter how subtle. From the first scene to the last, I never stopped learning from you. The world is now a little more empty without you in it. Rest in peace, my friend.”

Rogers, who played Colin Atkinson, had not appeared on the show since 2019. This episode marks his final TV appearance. Be sure to tune in to what is sure to be a heart-tugging and unforgettable moment. (Photo Credit: CBS.)
