Billy Miller, who played Drew Cain on General Hospital and Billy Abbot on The Young and the Restless, passed away on September 15th at the age of 43, two days before his 44th birthday. The news of his passing was first reported by Michael Fairman TV. No cause of death has been released. A report of his death in Variety referenced a statement from Miller’s manager, saying “The actor was struggling with manic depression when he died“.
Miller was born on September 17, 1979, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and raised in Grand Prairie, Texas. He received a degree in communications from the University of Texas in Austin and then moved to Los Angeles. His first break came with modeling and then he appeared in an episode of CSI: NY before being cast as Richie Novak on All My Children.
After leaving AMC, he was cast as Billy Abbot on The Young and the Restless, a role he played for 6 years and won 3 Daytime Emmys for. After leaving Y&R, he went to General Hospital as a recast Jason Morgan, but his character was later revealed to be Morgan’s twin, Drew Cain. In 2018, he received his 6th Daytime Emmy nomination for his work on GH. He left the daytime world in 2019 but continued to act in primetime.
