The Bold and the Beautiful Recap for Today, December 8, 2023:
What happened today on The Bold and the Beautiful: Donna intervenes when she overhears the truth about who really won the fashion showdown. Eric makes a final speech.
B&B Recap Today
Ridge invites Eric to take a seat, but Eric declines and expresses his excitement to have everyone there. Steffy assures him that they all understand the significance of the night. It’s a special occasion that they will all remember. She finds it amazing that they are all gathered there to celebrate. She emphasizes that family is important to Eric and to all of them. Eric will always be their leader, both at his home and at Forrester and that tonight is all about celebrating him.
Thomas expresses to Steffy that he had doubts about her ability to keep the secret while she was talking to Eric. Steffy says that she would never reveal anything, but she is struggling to cope with the pressure. Thorne tells his father that he is enjoying the party and encourages him to host more in the future. Eric expresses to Thorne and Bridget that he wishes they could spend more time together. Carter thanks Eric for always making him feel welcome at Forrester and tells him that he considers him more than just a boss or friend, but rather like a surrogate father. Eric responds by saying that if it was up to him, he wouldn’t be just a surrogate.
B&B Recap Today
Katie asks Eric how long he wants to keep his illness a secret. He tells her that he wants to keep it a secret for as long as possible. While they are talking, Eric starts coughing and Donna offers to get him some water. However, Eric says that he would prefer champagne instead. When Donna goes to get the champagne, she overhears Brooke, Ridge, Thomas, and Hope discussing how Ridge lied about Eric winning the fashion challenge. Donna is shocked and tells them that Eric can never find out that he didn’t actually win. Ridge admits that he wanted his father to come out on top. Donna notes that Eric is a smart man and he will eventually figure it out. While Ridge thinks it is a gift, Donna says Eric can never find out, especially with his condition, he will be furious.
B&B Recap Today
Li is stunned that Finn is still at the office and says he should be at Eric’s party. Li says it’s one thing to be fashionably late and tells him that he should head over. They agree that Eric is a remarkable man and he is blessed to have a lovely family. Li says she is envious, citing that Eric has so much to live for.
Eric expresses his appreciation for RJ’s talent, and also tells Zende that he has always been impressed by his talent. Eric feels proud to call Zende his grandson, and Zende acknowledges that it is all because of Eric’s positive influence.
Thomas expresses his gratitude to Eric for being an important person in his life and reminds him of his significance in the lives of others. Eric encourages Thomas by telling him that he has a bright future ahead and advises him not to take anything for granted. Eric compliments Hope, calling her intelligent and loving, and points out that she resembles her mother, Brooke. He also remarks that Hope’s name serves as a beautiful reminder of the importance of maintaining hope throughout life’s ups and downs. Hope shares that her name has taught her to never give up, even in the darkest of times, and to always hold onto hope.
Eric tells Brooke that she and Ridge are the future of the company. Brooke hugs him and tells him that she loves him. Eric then gets everybody’s attention and asks for a minute to say something before they go their separate ways. He wants to acknowledge Donna, who has been the angel by his side, and Ridge, his son. He notes that they have been battling each other for years, but they’ve also been loving each other. Eric admits that winning the fashion challenge was more important to him than it should have been, and notices the look on Ridge’s face. He questions if he won and asks why he would lie to him. Eric then looks around and says that it’s about the nicest thing anybody has ever done for him, thanking Ridge. Suddenly, Eric starts coughing and collapses. He tells Donna that it’s okay and his time has come, and he’s at peace with it. He begs them all to be kind to each other.
