Today on The Bold and the Beautiful, Brooke puts Carter on the spot about whose side he is on. The excitement of the fashion showdown builds as Eric and Ridge both vow to win.

Brooke and Ridge express their concern about Eric and ask RJ why he is so determined to make a fashion line. When Ridge suggests that there’s something RJ isn’t telling him, RJ defends his granddad. Ridge insists that if something is wrong with Eric, he should know. RJ then reveals that there is something important they both need to know about his granddad. Eric has never been more determined to make a collection for the last time. RJ hurries out, saying that he has a lot of work to do. Ridge reassures him that no matter what happens on the runway, they are all family and their love for each other comes first. RJ hopes that his father and grandfather will never doubt how much he loves them both.

Donna is struggling to accept the reality of the situation and wishes it wasn’t happening. Katie comforts her sister as she realizes how devastating the news is. Donna explains to Katie what happened to Eric and how RJ began designing. She tells Katie that Eric has been coughing up blood and the doctor gave him only six months to live, maybe even less. Donna expresses her love and appreciation for Katie, admitting how much she misses her sisters. Katie asks if Brooke has been informed, but Donna reveals that Eric doesn’t want anyone to know, and she doesn’t want to upset him. Eric returns, and it’s clear that Katie has learned the truth. She breaks down in tears, apologizing to Eric for what he is going through. Despite her desire to help, Eric begs Katie not to tell anyone, reminding her that life is fragile, and nobody knows this better than she does after everything she’s been through. Eric urges them to live each day fully and promises to beat Ridge in the upcoming competition. Eric tells them it’s enough of the tears when they have work to do because Ridge is not taking care of his legacy, the way he wants him to. Donna reminds Eric what the doctor said, and Katie says it’s not too late to back down; she can send out a press release. Eric remains determined and tells them this is his battle and his choice. If this is his last act, he will take his final bow his way.

Luna receives a text message from her mother asking her to call back. She takes a moment to reflect on her kiss with RJ. Carter drops by and notices Luna is distracted. He asks if everything is alright and they discuss the upcoming fashion show. Carter expresses his wish for Eric and Ridge not to be at odds with each other. RJ enters and shares his determination for his grandfather’s line to be a success. Later, RJ confides in Luna about his father’s pressure regarding his grandfather’s condition. RJ reveals that Ridge is very concerned about Eric, and wonders what would happen if his father knew the truth.
Brooke expresses her concerns to Ridge about how the fashion showdown might affect his relationship with RJ. Ridge assures her that he won’t let it happen. A little later, Carter joins them and Brooke asks him whom he is supporting in the fashion showdown. Carter admits that he’s rooting for his best friend Ridge, but he also feels obligated to support Eric since he was the one who gave him a job at Forrester. Later, Brooke tells Ridge that no fashion challenge is worth jeopardizing his relationship with his son. Ridge says that’s why he has to keep Eric out of the Forrester CEO chair when he should be out there enjoying his life.
