Before they knew it, they crossed a line. Deacon and Taylor shared a kiss and admitted they want to be together. That alone would be complicated, but there is a major problem standing in their way. Deacon is still married to Sheila (Kimberlin Brown).

Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) is deeply worried about where this is headed. She begged her mother to cut Deacon off completely. Not just as a patient, but out of her life altogether. Steffy fears that if Taylor continues down this path, Sheila could spiral and come after her family again.
That fear pushes Steffy to issue a shocking ultimatum. She tells Taylor that if she continues pursuing Deacon, she will cut her out of her life. Taylor is stunned by her daughter’s words, but Steffy’s reaction comes from fear, not anger. She is trying to protect her mother, herself, and her children.
Still, Taylor seems unable to resist the urge to be with Deacon. Despite the risks and Steffy’s warning, she cannot deny her feelings for Deacon. The two make a vow to find a way to be together.
