A man in tears is something you rarely see on a soap opera, but whenever Lawrence Saint-Victor—who pulls double duty by writing and acting as Carter Walton on The Bold and the Beautiful—gets some meaty emotional material, he always gives it his best. Case in point: this week’s B&B episode, where Carter was thrown for a loop by Daphne’s announcement. That being said, Saint-Victor is Soap Opera News’ performer of the week for August 11-14, 2026.
Let’s talk about what went down in Los Angeles!
Key Takeaways

Carter and Daphne Face a Heartbreaking Moment
While several of LA’s residents ventured off to Monaco for business and pleasure, there was still plenty of drama happening back home.
Daphne Rose Walton was still struggling to process the news that she could not bring forth a child. As viewers know, Daphne and Carter were looking forward to building a family the moment they said their I dos. They have been trying nonstop, but every single time they thought they were successful, it turns out they weren’t—ultimately leading to Daphne getting checked out and given a heartbreaking diagnosis.
Daphne Drops a Devastating Marriage Bombshell
This week, while they were in the office, Daphne was still in shambles. She was in tears as she opened up to Carter about just how painful the diagnosis is. Carter, being the man he is, supported her through every tear, but Daphne was just not able to handle it. She told him she had enough and just couldn’t do it.
“Even our marriage?” an emotional Carter asked. He thought her problems were his problems, her tears were his tears, and her heartbreak was his—after all, they are married!
But Daphne told him she cannot do this anymore. In fact, she is planning to go back to France. “I cannot breathe,” she said, “I need to get out of here. I need to go back to Paris. I’m leaving.”
Lawrence Saint-Victor Steals the Show
As usual, Lawrence Saint-Victor was at the top of his game. In a quick 5-minute scene, the actor proved he’s got every bit of acting chops to pull it off, and that he did! The cracks in his voice, the tears streaming down his face, and the knitted eyebrows all did it for us.
So much so that Saint-Victor has stolen the show and has officially been named our performer of the week!
