B&B Recap December 11: Wedding

At the Spencer Estate, Beth is getting ready to officiate. She checks in with her parents, and they tell her they’re all set.

“Welcome to the wedding of the year,” Beth says—then pauses, grins, and corrects herself. “The century.” Everyone laughs.

Beth makes it clear this isn’t your usual wedding. After all, a child is presiding over the ceremony, and her parents are pretty extraordinary. She’s just glad they got back together.

Deacon is ready to give his speech. Beth makes the guests laugh as she asks him to keep it brief.

Deke gives his speech, and then Donna reads something for the couple, getting emotional as she goes. Katie follows and reads as well. She’s happy the couple has reunited and that the room is full of Spencers and Logans. She’s confident Liam will take good care of her niece.

Bill gives his speech, followed by Brooke. Beth announces that they’ve arrived at the happiest part of the ceremony: the vows. “Finally,” Kelly mutters.

Liam gives his vows, then Hope gives hers. It’s time for the rings. Douglas brings them forward. Hope takes hers, Liam takes his, and they slip them on after repeating Beth’s words: “With this ring, I thee wed…”

Then Beth pronounces her parents husband and wife, and they share a kiss.

Taylor Encourages Sheila Not to Backslide

In Taylor’s office, Sheila goes on and on about how frustrating it is to be left out. Taylor tells her to give it a beat before talking to Hope, because crashing the wedding would be a pretty wild thing to do.
Sheila squints at her, wondering if Taylor’s basically calling her crazy.

Taylor insists she’s not calling her crazy. She’s actually glad Sheila is talking to her instead of acting on impulse. Sheila sighs and says that, even if his family never accepts it, she’s finally found true love with Deacon.

Sheila heads out, and Taylor hopes she’s finally going home. She thanks her for saving her marriage. Taylor insists she’s getting more credit than she deserves and asks her not to just pop into her office like that again.

Sheila understands and thanks Taylor once more for everything she did for her and Deacon.

Ridge Talks with Steffy

At Forrester, Steffy and Ridge look through photos of Kelly. Ridge admits he couldn’t be at the wedding because he’s worried about Eric. He tried something, and it completely blew up in his face.

Ridge was so convinced he was doing the right thing. He’d been hoping he and his dad could meet in the middle. Then his phone buzzes—it’s Charlie, letting him know that Eric is in the building.

Eric is in the showroom when Ridge walks in and tells his dad that no designer looks better on a runway. Ridge wonders why Eric is there instead of at the wedding, and Eric wonders the same thing. He explains that he just wants to be in the office.

Ridge tells his dad how much he loves him and how much he appreciates him. He says his dad gave him all the tools he has today and that he’d be nothing without him.

Ridge explains to his dad that the party was never meant to be disrespectful. He was just worried about his health and wants him to live a long life and be there forever. Ridge thought retirement would be the icing on the cake, a cake, by the way, that he and Brooke finished off together. He insists they’re partners, for as long as his dad allows it.

Steffy Visits Her Mom

Steffy stops by to see her mom and mentions that Sheila came by to vent about not being invited to the wedding. She thinks Sheila is being delusional and adds that her dad didn’t go either. He doesn’t want to deal with Bill. On top of that, Ridge is worried about Eric.

Taylor wonders if this is about the retirement party. Steffy explains that Ridge is worried about Eric’s health, but the way he reacted wasn’t ideal.
