B&B Recap December 5: Donna Supports Eric
In the Forrester Creations showroom, Eric is sketching when Donna walks in and greets her husband. She hates to interrupt, but she brought the design he left at home. He really appreciates it. It’s not a complete collection, but it’s enough to show Brooke and Ridge. He hopes that once his son sees it, he’ll finally change his tune.
“Eric Forrester is back,” he says.
Donna loves seeing him back in his element, but she admits she’s still a little concerned. Eric gently warns her not to go down that road. She’s starting to sound like Ridge.
Donna admits that as his wife, she’s worried about what the added stress could do to him. She even reminds him of what time he finally came to bed last night. She knows how incredible he is; he’s her honeybear, after all, but she wants him to find some time to relax.
He agrees he can do that. Donna is confident Ridge will see Eric’s vision. And Eric is just as confident that he’s about to take the fashion world by storm, and it all starts today.
Eri gets a text from Ridge and notes that he wants to see him in the office. He cannot wait to get him in the showroom to show him these amazing designs. This is the beginning of a whole new chapter. This is proof that his career is still going strong.
Ridge Worries about His Dad
Meanwhile, in the office, Brooke and Ridge are getting things ready for Eric’s retirement party. Ridge thanks her for putting everything together, but he admits it’s a big day for his dad.
Ridge stares at a picture, and Brooke asks if everything’s okay. He admits he’s thinking about the last time Eric really worked. She knows he’s worried about his dad; she is too.
Ridge says that’s exactly why they need to do this now, before the company practically puts him in the ground.
Daphne and Carter arrive. Carter still can’t believe today is the day. Daphne’s brought the cologne, “for the one-of-a-kind man,” she says. Ridge reminds them that the whole point of this party is to celebrate the man who built this company from the ground up. Daphne quietly wonders if Eric should really have to accept all this.
Daphne means no disrespect. She comes from a different part of the world, a culture that views elders with more reverence than this. Ridge insists he’s only doing what’s best for his dad. Daphne thinks Eric should decide his own future.
Steffy Worries about Her Grandad
In the design office, Steffy and Finn share a kiss. He asks if everything’s all set for Eric’s party, and she thinks so. But he can sense something’s off and gently asks what’s wrong. Steffy admits she wants everything to go the way her dad hopes, but she’s worried about how her granddad will take all of this.
It feels like Granddad’s last showing was ages ago. Finn points out that this is exactly why Ridge is so insistent on having the party. Steffy agrees with her dad, Eric needs to prioritize his health now. He deserves a calm, peaceful life. But she’s worried he won’t see it that way.
Finn understands why she’s concerned about Eric; she’s coming from a place of love. Retirement can be a big deal for her granddad. But Steffy points out it’s also a big deal for her dad. Finn feels like Eric will understand when the time comes. Steffy agrees with her father that it’s time for Eric to retire.
B&B Recap December 5: Eric Refuses
Then Steffy and Finn arrive and join the crew in the CEO office. Steffy notes that it all feels pretty intense for a party. Ridge asks, given what’s happened with Eric in the past, if she continues to push him too hard. Finn points out that it’s critically important to take Eric’s health into consideration. Ridge says he’s going to text his dad to come over.
Eric enters the office and is surprised to learn about the retirement party. He reminds Ridge that he and Stephanie built this company from the ground up and that he gets to decide what he wants to do. He insists he’s not going to participate, but Ridge insists that he is.
