B&B Recap October 30: Beth’s Bold Move and a Surprise Officiant

B&B Recap October 30: Finding Someone to Officiate the Wedding

Liam tells Hope it’s pretty cool that her mom’s offering her house for the ceremony. He adds that he’d marry her at the courthouse today if he could. Hope knows, but she reminds him their daughter’s really looking forward to the big day.

Speaking of which, Beth comes downstairs and asks how she looks. Liam starts talking about her hair, but Beth shakes her head — no, she’s talking about her dress. She wonders if the one she’s wearing or the blue one looks better. Beth can’t wait for the ceremony.

Liam gets up, takes Beth’s hand, and pulls her in for a dance.

Hope says Beth is even more excited than she is. After Beth leaves, Liam asks Hope about her chat with Carter. She says he was supportive and happy for them, but it’s safe to say he won’t be officiating. Liam notes they’ll need to find someone else who knows them well as a couple.

Beth is an Officiant

Beth comes back wearing another dress, and Liam jokes that this is starting to look more like a fashion show than a wedding. She notes that they still need someone to marry them — she heard them talking about it — and suggests that she should be the one to do it.

They joke about it, but note that there is so much that goes into that type of role. Beth understands. She jokes that she marries her dolls all the time. She promises that she will be perfect for the job.

Eventually, her parents agree, and Beth declares, “This is going to be the best wedding ever.” She runs off, saying she has so much to do, leaving her parents to bask in their love.

Carter Reacts to the News of Hope’s Engagement

At the office, Daphne talks about how overjoyed Hope must be with the relaunch of her line. She wonders if Hope mentioned it to Carter — and if they’re even still talking. Carter says they are, and in fact, they just spoke about her engagement to Liam.

Daphne says, so it’s official; the rumors are true. Carter nods, confirming it is. Daphne wonders if it was hard hearing the news from Hope herself.

Carter admits he was a bit thrown when he first heard the news. Daphne thinks it’s admirable that Hope didn’t want him to hear it from anyone else. She points out it wasn’t that long ago that Hope was planning a life with him. Carter says the truth is, he’s happy for her.

He notes that he is looking toward the future with someone else. He tries to kiss Daphne, but she pulls back. Carter laughs and says she is going to make him work for it, and he’s up for the challenge.

Li Checks on Sheila

Over at Il Giardino, Sheila asks one of the waiters if she’s seen her husband. The waiter says no, and Sheila starts to wonder where he is.

Sheila texts Deacon, hoping he’ll text back. Li arrives, saying she’s there to check on Sheila. She admits she can’t get it out of her head — Sheila once said she’d kill Taylor if she ever ended up with Deacon.

Li tells Sheila she’s come so far and shouldn’t backslide. She reminds her that if she becomes the woman Deacon trusts and fell in love with, that’s how she’ll get him back.

Sheila appreciates her looking out for her and hopes Taylor will do the same. After all, her future is now in Taylor’s hands.

Taylor Takes a Clinical Approach with Deacon

Deacon walks into Taylor’s office. She tells him this won’t be a regular session — she wants to talk about the two of them.

Taylor tells Deacon that the two of them ending up in each other’s arms is inappropriate on so many levels. Deacon says he knows — but he can’t stop thinking about it.

Taylor notes that something like that cannot happen again. Deacon agrees and acknowledges the fact that she is his therapist.

Taylor encourages Deacon to work toward forgiveness. As she talks, he wonders if she’s really referring to Sheila or to “us.” Taylor shuts him down, telling him there is no “us.”

B&B Recap Oct 30: Deacon Reunites with Sheila

Deacon goes home and tells Sheila he couldn’t find her downstairs. Sheila apologizes for lying to him and for causing him to lose faith in her. She wishes she could take it all back and promises she’ll make it up to him.

Deacon admits he struggled, but he was reminded that everyone makes mistakes. He’s still hurt and upset, but he’s not ready to give up on their marriage. Sheila runs into his arms, telling him thanks and that she loves him so much.

Sheila thinks this is all because of Taylor and notes there is no way she is going to be able to repay her for this.
