General Hospital has appointed new co-head writers. As reported by Soap Opera Digest, the current head-writing team of General Hospital, Chris Van Etten and Dan O’Connor, has been replaced. Patrick Mulcahey and Elizabeth Korte are set to assume the roles of co-head writers.

Van Etten became co-head writer in July 2017, working with Shelly Altman. O’Connor took over as co-head writer in August 2019. Before writing for daytime television, both Van Etten and O’Connor were passionate about soap operas. They started writing for ONE LIFE TO LIVE and later joined GH with OLTL’s executive producer and head writer.
