The Young and the Restless actress, Brytni Sarpy is celebrating her 35th birthday today.
Brytni Melicia Sarpy was born on September 21, 1987, in Southern California to parents; Mel and Kim Sarpy. Sarpy is of Creole (French, Italian and African American), Native American (Apache and Cherokee), and Filipino descent.
For most of her childhood, Sarpy lived in Sherman Oaks and attended high school in Upland. She attended the University of California, Santa Barbara and graduated in 2008 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. Sarpy then began to explore another side of her life by auditioning for professional gigs and upon graduation worked several jobs to stay afloat. Before becoming a Television actor, Sarpy worked as a bartender, a personal trainer at Equinox Fitness and also did commercial work as an athletic print model.
Sarpy started out her acting career in the theater where she appeared in several main stages and local productions where she received critical acclaim for her dramatic range and comedic timing. Aside from acting, she is also a trained dancer.
Currently, Sarpy lives in Los Angeles where she is represented by Pantheon Agency for theater and Vision Talent and CESD for commercial and print work. Sarpy did a number of commercials and print work for Nike, Yahoo!, AT&T, New Balance, Lays and several others.
Sarpy’s soap career includes her auditioning for a role on Days of Our Lives. She also auditioned for the roles of Taylor DuBois and Jordan Ashford on General Hospital before she was hired for the part of Valerie Spencer in 2015. After a year and some months on the show, she was dropped to recurring status in 2016. She did a few movies since then and now plays the role of Elena Dawson on The Young and the Restless since 2019. She is also had a recurring role on The Haves and the Have Nots!
Sarpy was primarily raised by her father with whom she is very close. He suffers from Parkinson’s Disease. She has a younger half-brother, Aiden through her father. Sarpy also has two other half-brothers and a half-sister on her mother’s side.
