General Hospital hunk Cameron Mathison, also known as Drew Cain, celebrates his 55th birthday today!

He was born as Cameron Arthur Mathison on August 25, 1969, in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada. He’s the second of two sons of Bill and Loretta. Mathison went to Thornlea Secondary School in Thornhill, Ontario, and got himself a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.

After his studies at McGill, he started his career as a model and appeared in commercials in Canada, the U.S.A., and Europe. He kicked off his acting gig in Toronto and shot to fame playing the role of Ryan Lavery on All My Children. He even snagged Daytime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actor in 2002 and 2005.

In 2000, People magazine named him one of “America’s 100 Most Eligible Bachelors”. Mathison also showed off his fancy footwork as a contestant on season five of Dancing with the Stars, landing in 5th place. He’s been a familiar face on Good Morning America and hosted various award events. Plus, he has co-hosted Entertainment Tonight and Hallmark’s Home and Family with Debbie Matenopoulos. He was married to Vanessa Marie Arevalo Mathison, and together they have two kids. In 2020, he bravely revealed his battle with renal cancer and is now a cancer survivor.
