Oh, hi again fans. Thanks for checking in today to our “Characters of the Past” column in which we focus on The Young and the Restless’ Avery Bailey Clark. The character who was present on the canvas from 2011 – 2015 was played by fan favorite, Jessica Collins.

Collins made her entrance as Avery, a high-class attorney on July 27, 2011. Avery first arrived in Genoa City after being hired by Victor (Eric Braeden) to be Sharon’s (Sharon Case) attorney during a murder case. Later, she was revealed to be the estranged younger sister of Phyllis Summers (then played Michelle Stafford). Throughout her run on the CBS daytime drama, her stories mostly included her legal work, her constant fights with her sister and romantic rendezvous with Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Dylan (ex-Steve Burton). Avery was also married to Joe Clark (ex-Scott Elrod) who later came to town with demands and a constant obsession with the blonde beauty.

Due to her being raped, Avery broke down in an interview confessing that she had been raped and accused an innocent man. Because of this, she had to step away and decided to leave town to get herself together. Avery later left town on July 21, 2015, after saying goodbye to her partner at the time, Dylan. Avery needed a start over somewhere new and hence she left but promised her sister and close friends that she would return one day. Do you think it’s time for Avery’s return.?
