This week’s (July 10 – 14, 2023) Couple of the Week is The Bold and the Beautiful‘s Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) and Hope (Annika Noelle), or Thope as their fans call them.
Thomas and Hope have a very long, very twisted history. His obsession with her has spanned over a decade and even included a mannequin that looked like her at one point. That little episode of extra crazy was helped along by a brain bleed that was corrected but still…but that is all in the past. Thomas turned over a new leaf and got help for his issues and really worked to make himself a better man and to let Hope go and focus on a future without her.
Hope was relieved when she was finally able to believe Thomas had actually changed, not just for their son, but also because if she wanted to keep her fashion line she had to bring him back as her lead designer because the line was faltering without him. Hope was unsure if she should but her husband was not. Liam (Scott Clifton) was 1000% against it and told Hope in no uncertain terms. She promised she wouldn’t let Thomas come back and then changed her mind, not telling her husband until after it was done.
Liam was furious but trusted his wife so he reluctantly backed down, vowing to keep a close eye on Thomas. What he didn’t know is that it wasn’t Thomas who was fixated on Hope, but Hope who was now fixated on Thomas. She was even fantasizing about him during sex with her husband. It took one work trip to Rome for Hope to throw caution to the wind and kiss Thomas in the heat of the moment. Unfortunately for her, Liam had flown to Rome to surprise her and saw the kiss unfold.
When Hope came home Liam confronted her and walked out. She was despondent and ended up at Thomas’s house. She told him what had happened and kissed him but he backed away, telling her that he couldn’t do it, looking down at her ring. Hope made the choice that her marriage was over and took her wedding rings off before kissing Thomas again and leading him up to his bedroom. They made passionate love over and over again.
In between sessions of lovemaking, they talked about their feelings for each other and the demise of her marriage while also taking the time to enjoy finally being together in the way they both wanted to. Their lovemaking was interrupted by her mother walking in and ripping into both of them but it was fun while it lasted.
Who knows what the future holds for these two. Will they finally get their first real shot or is Hope just doing the rebound thing? Hard to say on a soap opera but they sure are hot together!
