It’s Cynthia Watros’ birthday!
She was born Cynthia Michele Watros on September 2, 1968, in Lake Orion, Michigan, to parents Nancy and Bruce Watros. She has a brother, Steven Watros. Cynthia attended Macomb Community College in Clinton Township, Michigan, and she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Theatre from Boston University, where she was part of Boston University’s Professional Actors Training Program.
Watros became popular for her role as Annie Dutton on Guiding Light, a role she played from 1994 – 1998, and won a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress for her work on the show in 1998. Watros briefly filled in for Jensen Buchanan as Victoria Hudson McKinnon on Another World in 1998 while Buchanan was on maternity leave. Watros did several primetime gigs and film roles and later returned to soaps as Kelly Andrews on The Young and the Restless from 2013 – 2015. Watros assumes the role of Nina Reeves on General Hospital.
In real life, she is married to Curtis Gilliland and has been since 1996. They have twin daughters born in 2001. In 2008, Watros participated in a USO tour to Iraq, visiting several bases, including COP Callahan in Baghdad’s East Adamiyah area.
