“Calm in, stress out.” Actor Cyrus Hobbi, known in soap opera land for portraying “Yuri” on General Hospital, has a new alter ego and is now also known as “Rook,” as he is referred to in the new Nationwide TV commercial.
It opens with NFL Quarterback Hall of Famer and two-time Super Bowl Champion, Peyton Manning, saying, “Nationwide is so much more than a great insurance company. They are also one of America’s largest financial service companies.”
Also featured in the spot is 2025 NFL Super Bowl Champion, three-time Pro Bowler, and All-Pro running back for the Philadelphia Eagles, Saquon Barkley, who is coined “Stay Calm Barkley.”
The “Rook” is seen reading a playbook and appears a bit anxious about learning all the new information. “Stay Calm, Barkley” tries to reassure the rookie, telling him, “When things get intense, we get incense.” Ha!
For those who don’t know, Hobbi is no stranger to a football playbook. He studied Drama/Theatre at The University of Southern California on a full-ride football scholarship. He played offensive lineman (center and offensive guard) at USC. And while there, he won USC’s Offensive Service Team Player of the Year Award.
In Port Charles, Yuri’s career is off the field and diverse. He dabbles around as; bodyguard, translator, guide, and driver.
