‘Days of Our Lives’ is apparently seeking to cast a new role according to a leaked audition tape on Vimeo. The audition tape shows actress, Dahlia Salem (ex-Claire Walsh, General Hospital) auditioning for the role of “Megan”. In the video, Megan has a discussion with someone by the name of Eric (this could possibly be a code name for someone else). But as viewers know we already have an Eric on the canvas as played by Greg Vaughan – so, could the show be looking to cast a new love interest or recast a former love interest for the character. MEGAN: Pretty dead in here, isn’t it? Just us two.
ERIC: Yeah.
MEGAN: Buy you a drink?
ERIC: Oh thanks, but no.
MEGAN (angry): Fine. I’ll drink alone then, and you can go to hell.
[She takes a drink]
ERIC: Wow, how many of those are you having?
MEGAN: What’s it to you?
ERIC: Never mind.
MEGAN: Oh, sure. Ignore me. You’ve got your phone to keep you company. Why reach out to a boring human being, especially one who feels extremely sorry for herself? I mean, what’s more boring than that?
ERIC: Why are you feeling so sorry for yourself?
MEGAN: Oh, because I just bolted out of my own engagement party, having gotten a call from my fiance letting me know that he was done with me. He did have a good reason, mind you. You see, he slept with one of my closest friends and got her pregnant and he kind of knew I wouldn’t be too thrilled about that.
ERIC: Sorry.
MEGAN: Yeah, sure. Anyway, it’s okay. Go back to your phone.
ERIC: No.
MEGAN (shouting): Bartender, get me another one of these.
ERIC: You getting loaded? It isn’t going to help.
MEGAN: Oh know, then what is?
ERIC: Talking to someone who understands, and as luck would have it, you’re looking at him. See, I also just lost someone I love. She left town. Told me it couldn’t work. That she didn’t love me enough.
MEGAN: It’s the worst, isn’t it? And it’s not just the hurt. It’s that I feel like such a damn fool, because I was sure, so sure that I had found the one. And I was convinced that he and I were perfect for each other, and now I don’t know what I’m going to do.
ERIC: Maybe you’re hurt, but you’ll figure it out.
MEGAN: Speak for yourself.
ERIC: You will, too.
MEGAN: You sound pretty sure about that, even though we’ve only known each other for like five minutes. Megan, by the way.
ERIC: Eric.
MEGAN: We make quite the pair, huh?
ERIC: Yeah.
MEGAN: And those jerks who dumped us, who broke our respective hearts into a million little pieces, I say “Screw them.”
ERIC: Confirm that we will be okay. We’ll figure it out.
MEGAN: I’ll drink to that.
