Dan Feuerriegel and Remington Hoffman sat with Soap Opera News during Day of Days this past weekend in Los Angeles, and they teased a coming connection between their characters.
On whether or not EJ DiMera would be recruiting the services of Li Shin for any nefarious purposes coming soon, Feuerriegel did say to stay tuned to Days of Our Lives as something is coming between EJ and Li, but he wasn’t able to give any details.
Hoffman said that it’s natural to keep your friends close and your enemies closer, and also the notion of “my enemy’s enemy is my best friend.” Speculation is abound over what this may mean for the two characters in the near future.
While performing on Days, Feuerriegel says he tries to bring an element of “funny” to what he does, but doesn’t necessarily go for laughs. He likes to make awkward choices as EJ that is certainly connected to the fact that Susan Banks (Stacy Haiduk) is EJ’s mother. There is always room for the absurd, especially when playing scenes together like they had recently. Feuerriegel says he approaches playing scenes with Susan entirely different than any other character in Salem.
Hoffman likes to find the balance between being vulnerable and being “a bad-ass.” Straddling that line between vulnerability and projected strength is something that he thinks both Li and Melinda Trask (Tina Huang) have in common. He isn’t entirely sure if they can get out of their own way in regard to love.
