Can you imagine your young son being shot by someone you called a close family friend? This was one heck of an emotional week on ‘Days of Our Lives’ as so many Salemites had to deal with the aftermath of Theo Carver’s (Kyler Pettis) shooting. Unbeknownst to JJ (Casey Moss) he shot Theo and it has been one hell of a ride since that.
This week, we got to see the cast at their best. Sal Stowers (Lani) and James Reynolds (Abe) ripped our hearts out as they worried about Theo who may not make it – such heartbreaking scenes. Lani was really torn not just because Theo was shot but also because it was her boyfriend who shot him. Hasn’t Abe lost enough, losing Lexie (ex-Renee Jones), getting shot earlier this year almost losing his life and now his son is in the hospital fighting for his life? And, he has to deal with the fact that it’s a family friend who put his son there – will Abe ever be able to forgive JJ?
Casey Moss was also nothing but excellent as he came to terms with what he did. Those scenes with him back on the scene of the shooting looking at Theo’s blood and reflecting on what had taken place was well-done. Moss played the part of a guilt-ridden cop so well, thumbs up to him.
And, Lauren Koslow as Kate DiMera was another high point of this week. After all, she’s the whole reason Theo was in a spot to be shot in the first place. Kate is also a guilt-ridden party but on the other hand, she is trying to cover tracks. Just wait until everyone learns that she’s the DiMera that Theo had been on assignment for.
That being said, thumbs up to the entire cast who had us reeling in tears from all the fallout, the emotional drama and their excellent portrayal of the solid material they received that left us all stunned. It was truly in-depth, impactful and gut-wrenching. And, to the writers for giving these talented gems good material to work with. Also, honorary mentions to Olivia Rose Keegan (Claire) and Billy Flynn (Chad) who was nothing but superb in their scenes in reaction to Theo’s hospitalization after the shooting.Truly these scenes are Emmy-worthy, don’t you think? Well-done, Days!!
