Days of Our Lives fan favorite, Deidre Hall (Marlena Evans) is opening up about her mom’s illness in order to help others. Her mom, Jean Hall suffers from age-related macular degeneration, or AMD and as result loss her vision.
In an interview with Soaps In Depth, Hall shared how her mom was an avid reader, “She loved, loved, loved to read. She loved to knit. And she loved to play bridge. And we remedied part of that by getting her books on tape so she could still enjoy her novels. She couldn’t see the cards, so we got her oversized playing cards. Just things like that that helped her get through it,” she shared.
Today, Hall shared a video clip on Twitter with the caption, “When straight lines started appearing wavy, my mother knew it was time to see an eye doctor. She was diagnosed with Wet AMD.
