Daytime soap operas have seen a lot of casting changes recently, and that includes Days of Our Lives, which has added four of its stars to contract status! According to Jason47—and verified by the show’s closing credits—those four stars are Lauren Koslow, Sal Stowers, Jacob Martinez, and Sydney Malakeh.

Days of Our Lives Makes Four Contract Changes
Jason noted, “It took me four weeks to realize, but the same week that Sydney Malakeh (Sydney) debuted (9/7–9/11), Days also put Lauren Koslow (Kate), Jacob Richard Martinez (Javi), and Sal Stowers (Lani) on contract.”
He explains that this also clears up the apparent “errors” in the credits. Lani was listed during the week of September 7 despite not appearing, while Kate and Javi were listed during the week of September 14 even though neither character appeared on screen.
Lauren Koslow Is Back on Contract as Kate
Koslow’s first official date back on contract was September 8, while Jacob Richard Martinez was upped to contract on September 10. Sydney Malakeh debuted on contract on September 10, and Sal Stowers’ first date back on contract was September 16.
Malakeh is the newest among the group, having taken over the role of Sydney DiMera with her debut on September 10 in scenes set in Monte Carlo. The second newest addition is Jacob Martinez, who took over the role of Javi Hernandez from Al Calderon. Martinez made his debut at the end of June and had been on recurring status ever since.
As for Sal Stowers—who originally debuted as Lani Price in September 2015 following her run as Cassandra on All My Children—she returned to Days of Our Lives earlier this year on a recurring basis. With Lani now considering a return to the force and Stowers back on contract, it raises the question of whether Lani is set to rejoin the Salem PD soon.
Meanwhile, Lauren Koslow, who has played Kate Roberts since 1996 (and recently stepped in temporarily to play Jill Abbott on The Young and the Restless), is officially back on contract at Days!
