In the ever-changing world of soap operas, actors are always coming and going. The latest on that list are Arianne Zucker and Greg Vaughan leaving as Nicole and Eric, aka “Ericole,” from Days of our Lives. These exits were a real bummer for fans on July 29. Vaughan mentioned on Instagram that he didn’t leave by choice.

Through a series of Instagram stories, Vaughan shared announcements of the casting changes for soaps. To cap off his stories, there was a black screen with the words, “I didn’t leave by choice; I never had a choice,” and a heartbroken emoji at the end.

Although Vaughan has indeed exited the show, sources confirm that we haven’t seen the last of him as Eric. But in what capacity and when he’ll make a comeback remains undisclosed.

Greg Vaughan, who’s not only an actor but also a former model, is famous for his roles in The Young and the Restless as Diego Guittierez from 2002–2003, General Hospital as Lucky Spencer from 2003–2009, and of course, Days of Our Lives.

  1. So, why did he leave????? We’d like to know..

  2. Once the dust has settles they will come back, if they even want to that is. They both do Halmark movies and that will keep them busy, they are both great actors and nice to look at. They won’t suffer near as much as the fans will. they’ve always been a big part of Days❤️I got Peacock just for Days like so many had to. Shame on you all, you better get your act together or you will lose more viewers.

  3. i have been watching days since i was young i quit watching when Eric and Nicole left i have not watch it since i really love all the people on the show the but what happen too Ari was enough for me i will never watch it again

  4. I hope that the directors or whoever else had a hand of getting rid of Nicole sees what this is gonna do to the show .The show will gradually ruin their selves

  5. It was a big mistake firing Ari for standing up for herself and other woman on the show. Ken Corday should be ashamed of himself for letting sexual harassment go on backstage. These people are actresses, not porn stars. Treat them with respect. Ari will be missed as Nicole. She has helped build Day’s over 25years. Shame on you Ken Corday.🙈🙀

Agreed but once the dust has settles, especially on the wrongful termination they will have to ask her back, but she probably won’t, she’s got enough in her plate.

  6. Exactly what the hell are the people who act like that thinking…It’s 2024 and Ari should not have been subjected to that by some pig!!!

  7. It was a sad day when they fired the best actress they have had in the show with her story lines and her acting she keep things interesting , both Eric and Nicole are going to be missed, I have seen a lot in over 50 years come and go but this was the worse mistake that the show has made to let sexual harassment continue and not do a thing about it is that way Abby, Gabi, and a lot of the other actors and actress left for the same reason, they remaking it real hard for people to stick with them when they let things like that go on you may lose a lot of viewers not only because you are hurting the people we have watched and loved but you keep
Going up on peacock every feed months people can’t afford cable and peacock going up all time
