Days of Our Lives actor, James Reynolds marks today a BIG milestone. Reynolds who originated the role of Abe Carver on the NBC dramatic serial on October 29, 1981, is celebrating 37 years of playing the role. After joining the show in 1981, Reynolds remained there on contract and has only taken two short breaks in 1991 and 2003 where he remained a recurring character. Today, he is the only actor to have played the role.
Originally Abe Carver served as a stalwart police commander for approximately nine years in Reynolds’ initial run on the show. Upon his return, Abe was promoted in rank to Chief and was named the top law enforcement official in Salem. He is currently the Mayor of Salem.
Abe has been through a whole lot and survived. He is also known for being paired with women such as; Lexie Carver, Maxine Landis, Tamara Price, Fay Walker, Valerie Grant and more.
Reynolds is currently the 5th longest serving actor on the show. For his outstanding work on DAYS, he earned 3 Daytime Emmy award nominations winning the award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series in 2018. We wish him a happy 37th anniversary.
