Peyton Meyer is back and making his first post-Days of Our Lives move with a brand-new Hallmark movie. The actor, who played Doug Williams’ namesake and grandson Doug Williams III, will star in Kentucky Roses, set to premiere May 2, 2026, on Hallmark Channel and streaming the next day on Hallmark+.
Hallmark Media teamed up with Churchill Downs Racetrack to bring this all-new original movie to life. It was filmed on location at the iconic home of the Kentucky Derby.
The cast includes Andrew Walker, Odette Annable, Ally Ledford, Brynn Thayer, Gregg Henry, and, of course, Peyton Meyer. The film celebrates the pageantry, tradition, and enduring spirit of the Derby, with romance, family drama, and a touch of history all rolled into one.
A Romance Across Time
Kentucky Roses weaves two timelines, the present day and 1932, right at Churchill Downs.
In the present, Sadie Moore, played by Annable, works in the greenhouse dreaming of becoming a florist and contributing to the Derby’s famous garland of roses, just like her great-grandmother Gloria, played by Ledford.
As Derby Day approaches, Sadie meets Ash Taylor, portrayed by Walker. He is the son of the Churchill Downs CEO, tasked with emergency repairs on the Twin Spires after a storm.
Sparks fly, but their budding romance is complicated by a long-buried family connection. It’s a bittersweet love story from the past that could repeat itself.
“Hallmark Media and Churchill Downs are both legacy brands, each with more than a hundred years of history,” said Jessica Callahan, Vice President at Hallmark Media. “Together, we’re thrilled to bring audiences an inspiring story of community, courage, and time-honored traditions.”
Kentucky Roses wrapped production last year and promises to give fans a mix of romance, family, and Derby Day excitement, complete with Hallmark’s signature charm.
