The Days of Our Lives episode of October 8, 2026 featured a lot of moments, including Marlena shocking Belle with some big news, Dante and EJ finally meeting, Chanel finally ringing the bell after chemo, and Paulina’s relentless attempt to get the governor to grant Lani a full pardon. Let’s talk about the Salem drama on October 8!

Dante Arrives in Salem and Meets EJ

Dante arrives and surprises Sydney at the mansion. “Working hard as usual, I see,” he says as he walks in. She wonders what brings him to town and, more importantly, to the mansion. He notes he got there straight from the airport and hopes he can finally meet the much-talked-about EJ DiMera. In addition, Dante reveals he came because some business came up in Salem. On top of that, he wanted to check in on his favorite employee and future stepdaughter.

Shortly after, Sydney calls Belle to tell her that Dante spoke with Dominic just like they wanted, and he is coming to Salem. Sydney adds that he will come “whenever he is ready to make his move.” After the call, Dante tells Sydney that he considers Dominic one of the best friends he ever had. They even talk about work, and Dante suggests that she can extend her remote work time and stay in Salem. However, she thinks she gets a lot more done in the office. On top of that, she misses her mom in Italy, but she will still think about it.

Marlena Drops a Bombshell on Belle

Meanwhile, Marlena and Belle are waiting patiently at the hospital to get an update on Rachel. During their wait, Marlena shocks Belle by telling her about the birth certificate and that Dominic could be her brother. After getting the call from her niece, Belle hopes that the truth will come out once Dominic comes to town. She thinks they can get a DNA test.

Over at the station, Jada takes EJ down to question him. She mentions what has come to light thanks to a source. Furthermore, she adds that George O’Halloran is also going to be questioned, and she hopes their stories match up. EJ wonders if George is the claimant, but Jada tells him no. She reveals that Johnny is the one who spilled the beans!

EJ tries to paint it as Johnny making a false claim, but Jada leaves to give him a moment to think things over. Belle arrives. She explains that she has nothing to hold him on, but she warns that he cannot threaten Johnny. He promises he won’t.

Later, EJ arrives home and meets Dante. There is something he would like to ask him, but Dante has a meeting to get to. “To be continued,” EJ says.

Chanel Rings the Bell

Sal Stowers as Lani and Jackee Harry as Paulina on Days of Our Lives.

Meanwhile, Chanel and Johnny go to the hospital for her chemo. They talk about EJ, and Johnny kinda hopes his father walks this time. He notes his father is not the one to dispose of the drug illegally, and when he found out, he tried to do what’s right. However, Chanel tells him that his dad is a monster.

“Not to me, he’s not,” Johnny says. “He is my dad, and he always will be.”

Johnny is sorry it came down to this point. Chanel supports him and is happy he did the right thing. She was thrilled at the thought of Johnny walking away from DiMera Enterprises. However, Johnny tells her that’s not the case—he is not giving up his job as CEO!

When the truth comes out, DiMera is going to take a huge hit, and he has to fix this. He wants to take this and build it into something their kids—and Chanel—can be proud of.

Later on, Paulina and Lani showed up with the kids to surprise Chanel. They declared they wouldn’t miss this moment for the world! After thanking the medical staff and her family for their amazing care, Chanel officially rang the chemo bell. Tears turned to pure smiles across the hospital floor as she and Johnny shared a passionate kiss!
