Days of Our Lives Recap for Friday, December 29, 2023:
What happened today on Days of Our Lives: On the night of New Year’s Eve, our beloved residents of Salem attend a party at the Bistro. While visiting Xander, Sarah notices Victoria has a fever. Leo makes a pitch to Chad to get his Lady Whistleblower column back. Chanel confides in Johnny about her worry about her mother’s health. Nicole almost catches Holly with pills as she gets ready for her date with Tate.
Days Recap Today December 29, 2023
Xander is speaking with Victoria when Sarah arrives unexpectedly. Xander thought Sarah was going to attend the New Year’s Eve party, but Sarah tells him that she wanted to check on them first before going. She greets Victoria with a kiss and notices that her head is warm. Xander didn’t notice it before, but Sarah thinks it’s nothing serious. Xander goes to fetch some medicine for Victoria, while Sarah stays with her. When Xander returns, Sarah decides not to go to the party because the baby is sick.
Later, after taking the medicine and hearing a lullaby, Victoria’s temperature returns to normal. Sarah says she doesn’t care about the party anymore and would rather be with Xander and the baby. Sarah and Xander kiss at the strike of midnight.
Chanel and Johnny are in the town square, getting ready for the party. Chanel expresses her worries about her mother’s health condition to Johnny. Johnny assures her that no matter what happens, they will face it together and that Paulina will fight and overcome it.

At the Brady Pub’s entrance, Chad bumps into Leo, who has an interesting proposal for him regarding The Spectator. Chad tells him that he can discuss the matter with the new editor-in-chief and warns him that he will supervise every piece in the column.
Leo then asks Chad if he has any plans for New Year’s with Stephanie, but Chad informs him that they have already broken up. Leo tries to inquire more about their breakup, but Chad dismisses him, stating that it is none of his business. Leo leaves to find Everett.
Alex and Theresa meet Brady and Tate. Tate tries to act secretive, but Brady reveals that he is picking up Holly as his date for the party. Brady discloses that Kristen took Rachel, his original date, out of town, so he decided to go home. Theresa insists that he accompanies them to the party, and although Brady resists, they eventually convince him to come along. However, Brady agrees to stay only for a short while. Theresa motivates him to snap out of it, and they all leave for the party.
Stefan gets an update that two Salem kids were found dead after they overdosed. Ava wonders if this is because of them. Ava wonders if things can get any worse. She then reveals to Stefan that she lied to Harris that they are dating because it is better that he thinks that than he suspects they are moving drugs. Stefan agrees even though he hates the idea that he is cheating on Gabi.

Holly is getting ready for a party and she looks at her pills when Nicole enters the room. Holly wonders if Nicole wants her to stay home, but Nicole says she is fine. She had a therapy session and is in a good place. She and EJ plan to stay in. Nicole hopes Holly and Tate have a great time at the party. Holly says she is planning on it. Nicole helps Holly to pick out a dress. Tate arrives looking dapper, and Nicole tells them to have fun at the party.
Chad goes to the mansion to thank EJ for letting him use the jet. Nicole informs him that EJ has been upstairs on business calls, but he is welcome to wait. Chad sits with Nicole and asks how she is doing. Nicole expresses her regret that things didn’t work out between Chad and Stephanie. Chad tells Nicole she deserves happiness and hopes the coming year brings her just that.

At the party, Stephanie arrives with Everett and introduces him. Alex then stops Brady to talk about Theresa. Later, Leo makes a stunning arrival and gets everyone’s attention. He approaches Everett about getting his job back. After much convincing, Everett agrees.
Outside, Holly shows Tate the pills, suggesting they can make things a little more fun. Tate insists Holly put the pills away. He says his parents are both addicts and there is no way he is taking those. Holly insists they make her feel better and give her energy and it will make things more fun for both of them. Holly leaves to go to the bathroom.
Stephanie and Everett share a kiss in the square as fireworks light up the sky. Meanwhile, Chad witnesses the moment, and Tate frantically searches for Holly. He eventually finds Holly lying on the ground on the docks after overdosing.
