Spoilers for Days of Our Lives for May 17, 2023: Eric becomes curious about Sloan’s brother. Nicole discusses her pregnancy with Anna. Rafe and Jada grow more suspicious of Colin. Talia tells Colin she wants to call off their plan.
Days of Our Lives Episode Recap for May 17, 2023: A Collison Reveals Nicole’s Secret to Sloan!
Chanel makes pastries for Abe and Paulina and Paulina gently reminds her that they still have leftovers from the other things that she has been baking them. Chanel is sad about her bakery being closed and Abe and Paulina try to rally her spirits and assure her that it’s only temporary. Their morning is interrupted by Melinda Trask arriving, wanting to speak to Abe.
Trask wants Abe to fire Rafe and put in a police commissioner that she can work with, one who is willing to bend the rules to help catch the bad guys. She suggests Paulina for the position but Abe shuts her down immediately. After she leaves Abe promises Chanel he will try to convince the health department to let her reopen Sweet Bits. When she goes to get dressed Abe receives a call from the health inspector wanting to meet with him and Paulina at the bakery. Before they leave they decide not to tell Chanel to not get her hopes up.
Colin and Talia are in bed together and agree that his new room is much better than the one at the motel. Colin tells her about Sloan’s visit and the threat to go to the police about what he’s been doing and Talia is concerned. She tries to convince him to drop it and move on with their lives but he gets angry and guilts her into agreeing to continue their plan to break Chanel’s heart. She gets dressed to leave and he tells her that he will stay at the hotel and not do anything else since he promised his sister he’d stop.
Jada goes to the motel looking for Colin and is surprised to find Rafe in his room. Rafe tells her that he came to tell Colin to leave Talia alone and found out that he had checked out the night before. Jada questions if he is involved in what is going on with Chanel and Paulina and Rafe suggest they find his prints in the room and run them to get more information on him.
Rafe finds a razor in the trash but when they get back to the station and run the prints no record comes up. Rafe and Jada realize that since he has a British accent he may have a record in England. They run his prints through Scottland Yard’s database and get a hit!
Anna finds Nicole upset in the parlor and they talk about her pregnancy. Anna promises that her secret is safe with her. Nicole tells her about her past issues with carrying a child and that she only has Holly because Chloe acted as a surrogate for her. She tells her about how much Eric wanted to be a father and all of the losses he suffered in that. Nicole is worried that if the baby is his and she can’t carry it that she’ll have taken another child from him.
Anna tries to comfort her and talks about all the medical advances that have been made. She also encourages her to take care of herself and start taking prenatal vitamins. Anna promises Nicole that she is there for her for anything she needs. Later Anna runs into Eric after leaving the liquor store and acts very suspicious while they talk. Eric questions her about it and she tells him that she sampled too much wine and that everything is fine. As she walks away Eric watches her curiously.
Eric gets out of the shower and overhears Sloan on the phone telling someone she loves them. He questions her about it and she explains that it was just her brother. They talk about her relationship with Colin and how hard he took their parents’ deaths. Eric questions if he could be behind the problems Paulina and Chanel are having and Sloan quickly shuts that down.
Sloan tells Eric that her brother would never do those kinds of things and he’s nowhere near Salem to do them. They make love and afterward, Sloan asks Eric if he used protection with Nicole. He promises her that Nicole can’t possibly be pregnant and confides in her that Nicole told him she was in early menopause. Sloan takes this news gleefully. Later on, she literally runs into Nicole at the hospital and Nicole drops the bottle of pills she was holding. Sloan grabs it before Nicole does and is shocked when she sees that they are prenatal vitamins!
Chanel is pleasantly surprised when Talia stops by. She invites her in and they flirt. At the bakery, Paulina laments to Abe about how sad it is that it’s closed down. The health inspector comes in and introduces himself to them, but it’s actually Colin!
