Days of Our Lives Recap for Wednesday, January 10, 2024:
What happened today on Days of Our Lives: Brady and Theresa are horrified when they see Tate. EJ helps Nicole recharge after being by Holly’s side. Abe spends some quality time with Paulina. Everett tries to get details for a story from Harris. Stephanie and Jada catch up.
Days Recap Today: January 10, 2024
Paulina is making a green smoothie when Chanel asks if her mother heard anything about her biopsy. Paulina replies that she hasn’t heard anything yet, but this whole thyroid issue has made her start taking care of herself. She mentions how her new endocrinologist suggested trying an anti-inflammatory diet, which she looked up and found helps with memory, something that might be good for Abe. Abe arrives with flowers and a double chocolate croissant from Sweet Bits. Paulina takes it, saying, “I don’t think so. None for you, Abraham Carver.” Chanel explains that her mother is being particular about eating healthy. Paulina then asks Chanel for some time alone with Abe.
Later, Paulina suggests some alternative methods for memory loss, but Abe stops her. He appreciates her help and her desire for him to regain his memory but asks if she can accept it if he never does. Paulina reassures him that his memory loss won’t change how she feels about him; she loves him and always will. To help him regain his memory, Paulina suggests letting him watch their wedding ceremony and see if it triggers any memories.
After watching the video, Abe suggests they reenact their first kiss as husband and wife. Just as they are about to, Brady calls Paulina and asks her to fire EJ. After the call, Paulina wonders if she did the right thing by Tate.
Jada and Harris interrogate a suspect about the drug case. The suspect, Mr. Smith, remains tight-lipped. Jada decides to run a background check on him to gather more information. Harris offers to help Mr. Smith if he cooperates and reveals the name of his boss. Jada leaves to grab a bite while Harris takes Mr. Smith to the station for booking.
Once at the station, Harris confirms that the suspect’s real name is Mr. Hulsenkamp and warns him that with his criminal history, he may never see freedom again unless he cooperates. However, Hulsenkamp refuses to talk. Everett arrives and asks Harris if he can interrogate the suspect. Harris refuses, but Everett pleads his case, and Harris ultimately is worried about losing his job, which prompts Everett to leave.

Stephanie and Everett have a meeting at The Brady Pub. Everett apologizes for being distracted by their history the night before. However, Stephanie doesn’t mind because it gave her an idea to partner with the downtown escape room and organize a murder mystery event with their paper as a sponsor. She believes it will help grow their subscription base, and it will be beneficial for everyone involved. Everett loves the idea and promises to discuss it with his bosses and get back to her.
Later, Stephanie asks Everett about Leo’s first column, and he says it is great. Leo has a lot of material to go through, and it seems like there is no one in Salem without any deep, dark secrets. Stephanie then asks Everett if he has any, but he receives an alert that they have brought someone in for questioning, and he needs to go check it out.
Afterward, Jada joins Stephanie, and they talk about their day drinking. Jada asks if Harris got Stephanie home safely, and she confirms that he did and was a perfect gentleman. Jada then asks if Stephanie has feelings for Harris, but she says he isn’t her type. Stephanie then shares that she kissed her ex on New Year’s Eve, but it wasn’t Chad or Alex; it was the one from Seattle. Chanel comes by, and Stephanie invites her to join them. Jada opts to leave, and Chanel apologizes for what happened with Talia.

Theresa and Brady visit Tate. She swears that when this is all over, she is going to sue EJ for pain and suffering. Brady wishes her good luck with that and suggests they focus on getting Tate out of prison. The officer brings in Tate, who holds down his head. As his parents demand that he look at them, he holds up his head, and they see that he has a black eye. Brady is angry and demands to know what happened and who did that to him.
Tate explains that a guy punched him in the face. Brady and Theresa agree that he should not be in there, and Theresa says Brady will do something about that today. Theresa suggests that Brady talk with Nicole about this and see if they could get Tate’s bail reinstated. Brady is not sure how receptive Nicole will be given the circumstances. While Brady promises to give it his best shot, Tate promises not to get his hopes up.
Theresa stays with Tate and tells him that he is really brave. He notes that he is faking it; he is pretty scared and also angry because he didn’t do anything wrong. He is not sure how much longer he can handle this. Theresa tells him that she and his father will not rest until he is out of there.

Nicole tells EJ that it is a mistake to come home and that she should not have left the hospital. He suggests getting Cook to make her something to eat, but Nicole demands that he stop treating her like a 5-year-old. She then apologizes for snapping at him; she admits that she feels like she is living in a nightmare that is never going to end. EJ reminds her that Holly is young and strong. He also reminds her that he was shot in the head, and while the recovery was difficult, he made it out alright.
EJ is confident that Holly will recover, too. Nicole admits that she is starting to lose faith and believing in miracles after losing their son. She somehow thinks God could be punishing her, but EJ tells her that he does not think that is the case. Nicole reveals that she feels like screaming and EJ encourages her to let it out. Afterward, Nicole says she is going upstairs to take a shower and begs EJ to bring her a toast. Brady comes by and asks EJ if everyone is okay because he heard screaming from all the way in the driveway. He goes on to tell EJ that he wants to speak with Nicole alone.
EJ warns Brady that he shouldn’t come to plead Tate’s case, but Nicole asks to speak with him. EJ leaves them alone, and Brady apologizes for Holly’s situation and pleads with Nicole to let EJ see that Tate is innocent.
He explains that Tate was injured by a grown man in prison after EJ revoked his bail and wants to charge him as an adult. Brady is afraid of losing his son and wants EJ to reconsider. Nicole asks if Brady thinks Tate is innocent, to which he admits he didn’t care at the time but now believes his son is telling the truth. This angers Nicole, and she tells him to leave. Later, Nicole blames herself for Holly’s situation, but EJ promises to make sure Holly recovers and that Tate is held accountable.
Brady returns to the station and shares the disappointing news with Theresa and Tate that he didn’t get through to Nicole. Brady swears on the soul of his grandfather that he will get Tate out of there.
