Days of Our Lives Recap for Friday, January 12, 2024:
What happened today on Days of Our Lives: Kate brings Harris to see Lucas. Theresa and Brady struggle to find a way to help Tate. Alex opens up to Chad. Eric checks in on Holly at the hospital. Nicole and EJ argue about her relationship with Eric.
Days Recap Today: January 12, 2024
Nicole has Holly’s stuff packed when EJ checks in with her and he notes that there has been no change in Holly’s condition. Nicole is ready to go, but EJ first wants to address something he saw yesterday. He mentions that he saw her and Eric at the hospital and explains that he knows how important Eric is to Holly. Nicole is grateful for EJ’s understanding. EJ confesses that seeing her in Eric’s arms made him feel uneasy. Nicole pleads with him to stop talking and indicates that she does not want to hear it. EJ apologizes and admits that he shouldn’t have said anything. Nicole wonders how he could feel jealous at a time like this. Nicole then admits that Eric was there for Holly when she got drunk and hungover on Christmas.
EJ reveals that Rafe called him and said they have been questioning Holly’s high school friends, and they admitted that they’ve been dabbling in weed. Nicole is shocked. She says at least weed is legal, but EJ reminds her that it is not permitted if you’re not 21.
Nicole recalls the morning when she caught Holly taking pills and assumed they were aspirin. She wonders if Holly would go as far as taking drugs. EJ advises her not to rush to any dire conclusions. Nicole realizes that she may have been deluding herself about Holly’s innocence and honesty. She acknowledges that Tate is a good kid and that Holly may not be as innocent as she thought. Nicole decides it’s time to return to the hospital and leaves EJ, who agrees to meet her in the car. EJ wonders if Tate’s claims were true and says, “Dear God, could Tate have been telling the truth?“
Eric visits Holly at the hospital and talks to her, even though she is unconscious. He tells her that she is his little girl and shares memories of the first time she called him daddy. He also apologizes for leaving her and her mother to go to Africa, thinking it was the right thing to do. However, he now realizes that nothing is more important to him than being Holly’s dad.
Nicole and EJ arrive later and go to Holly’s room. Eric had been there for about an hour and didn’t want her to be alone. EJ suggests exploring other options since there has been no change in Holly’s condition. He made a couple of calls and one of them was to a clinic in Italy that helped him when he was close to death. They were very encouraging when he spoke to them about Holly’s condition, and he believes this world-renowned facility can help. Nicole offers to consider the option but needs to talk to Kayla first. Afterward, Eric suggests they all pray together.

Brady brings Theresa some dark chocolate. She calls him a mind reader, but cannot stop worrying about their son. She admits that it is killing her inside.
Brady says he wishes he could engineer a jailbreak like in the movies, but he won’t because he does not know where to start. Theresa jokes that she would drive the getaway car. They wonder if they missed any signs and if they could have prevented this situation.
Theresa starts to feel that she is responsible and failed their son while Brady encourages her not to blame herself. He thinks he should have been there more for their son. They reflect on that night when Tate was excited about his date with Holly. Brady and Theresa embrace each other as Theresa becomes emotional over the entire situation.
Despite the fact that they have often given each other a hard time, they both agree that they have been good parents. They realize that they are not perfect, but they are doing the best they can. They need to have faith in their son and his innocence. Brady and Theresa raise their chocolate toasts, promising never to give up.

Kate visits Lucas and he asks her why she’s there. Lucas mentions that if it’s about Dimitri, nobody knows what happened to him. There’s a rumor that he’s in supermax. Kate clarifies that she’s not there to talk about Dimitri, but because someone wants to speak to Lucas. Harris walks in and Lucas brings up what happened with Megan. Kate interrupts and explains that Harris was one of the people who saved her life and she trusts him. Harris then tells Lucas that he’s there to offer him a deal. Harris says that whoever is behind the drug epidemic in Salem is in Statesville. Mayor Price has given Harris the green light to take action, and he needs Lucas’ help to get intel from the inside.
Lucas is hesitant and tells Harris that “snitches get stitches.” Harris knows it’s a lot to ask, but reminds Lucas that he was a prison informant before. Lucas is still unsure, but Harris offers him help to get his freedom in return for his cooperation. Kate understands Lucas’ decision not to risk his life, but Lucas changes his mind and offers to start out slow. Kate begs him not to do it and Harris promises to protect him. Later, Kate goes to the guard while Lucas agrees to help Harris.

Chad and Thomas are playing ball in the park. Thomas suggests that they should have guys’ night every night, but Chad worries about how his sister would feel about it.
Alex watches as Chad tells Thomas that he loves him and is proud of him. They hug, and Thomas throws the ball. Suddenly, they then notice Alex, who approaches and teaches Thomas a trick with the ball.
Thomas invites Alex to stay and play monkey in the middle with them. After the game, Chad and Alex get a little time to bond. Chad thanks him for being good with Thomas and inquires if he gets along with Theresa’s kid. Alex admits they haven’t had much interaction and that he got kicked out by Theresa for crossing a boundary while trying to be supportive.
He is trying to figure out his role in all of this. Chad suggests Alex seek advice from Justin, but Alex notes they are not on good terms because he has been lashing out at him. Chad then opens up about finding out he is Stefano’s son, and Thomas comes back, wanting to play another round of monkey in the middle.
