Days of Our Lives Recap for Wednesday, January 3, 2024:

What happened today on Days of Our Lives: Chad and Julie talk about loss and the future. Sloan is forced to deal with Leo’s spending habit. Everett stumbles upon an argument between EJ and Stefan. Nicole sits vigil with Holly.

Days Recap Today: January 3, 2024

Julie and Chad get a visit from Everett, who tells them that Holly overdosed. During their conversation, Everett informs them that Holly is currently in a coma. Julie expresses her concerns about the source of the drugs involved in the incident. Everett suggests that they should investigate to discover the truth, expose those responsible, and reveal the story to the public. He believes that doing so will help save lives. Chad agrees with Everett’s plan.

Everett informs Chad that he has some confidential informants willing to provide information, but it would come at a cost. For him to proceed, he would need a petty cash fund of $5,000. Chad is hesitant because of the amount, but Everett explains that money is the quickest way to get information. He further assures Chad that he can get the job done, and Chad eventually agrees to provide the funds. As Everett leaves, Julie expresses her concern about Everett’s safety in the case, but Chad is confident that Everett can handle himself. The conversation then shifts to Abigail, whom Chad is missing dearly. Julie then suggests that Chad move back in with the kids, and he accepts her proposal.

Marlena and Kayla have a discussion about Holly’s condition and they conclude that there has been no improvement. During their conversation, Marlena discloses that Tate was arrested for drug possession. She also expresses her concerns about Nicole, stating that she is worried about what would happen to her if she loses Holly, especially after already losing her son.

Eric and Sloan are talking when Marlena calls Eric with some bad news. Holly is in a coma, and Marlena thinks that Eric should be there for her. Eric rushes to the hospital. Meanwhile, Sloan receives an alert that Leo purchased a $1200 bottle of champagne. She is angry and decides to take Jude on a “field trip”.

Sloan goes to confront Leo about his excessive spending habit. She reminds him that she has a very limited amount of money and that her credit card getting rejected will make her husband suspicious. Leo tells Sloan that he will soon be getting his own money because Lady Whistleblower is back. He threatens her that if she doesn’t play her cards right, he will reveal her secret to everyone.

Later, Sloan sends Leo a financial fitness app-based budget that allows him a monthly stipend. She reminds him that if she went broke, it would mean no more roof over his head.

EJ approaches Stefan and holds him responsible for what happened to Holly. Stefan denies any culpability, stating that EJ is to blame because he requested his assistance, which he declined to provide. Stefan suggests that EJ be angry with himself if he wants to be angry with someone. EJ tells Stefan that he’s jeopardizing the lives of many for one person who is imprisoned for murder.

EJ insists that Stefan provides one good reason why his brother shouldn’t be arrested. EJ warns Stefan to clean up the mess he has created, or else he will be held accountable. EJ also tells his brother that he will never forgive him for causing his family’s suffering.

Everett stumbles upon the Dimera brothers and introduces himself, expressing a desire to ask EJ some questions, but EJ declines and walks away. As Everett questions him, Stefan apologizes for what happened on the loading dock, but he clarifies that he has no control over what happens there. He also adds that they will provide additional security measures. Stefan denies any responsibility for Holly’s actions but expresses sympathy for Holly and her mother.

Nicole is sitting with Holly and complimenting her on how pretty she looked while going to the party, but she also notes that she was apparently not happy. Marlena and Kayla join them in the hospital room, and Kayla provides an update on Holly’s condition. Nicole apologizes to Marlena for EJ’s intention to make Tate pay. Marlena assures her that Tate has never been involved in drugs. Nicole admits that she must not have been paying enough attention because she never thought Holly would do drugs.

Nicole admits to feeling guilty because she was so consumed with grief over her son that she didn’t pay enough attention to her daughter. Later, Eric checks in on Nicole and Holly. Nicole is visibly emotional but tries to reassure herself that Holly will pull through. Eric suggests that they pray together as they hold hands with Holly, and he leads the prayer. Unfortunately, Holly has a seizure, and Eric rushes to get the nurses’ help.

Kayla enters the room to help Holly become stable. She requests that Eric and Nicole exit the room. Outside, Nicole embraces Eric and prays to God for her baby’s well-being. Marlena observes them. Later, Marlena discovers that Holly is having a seizure. Back in Holly’s hospital room, Eric consoles a worried Nicole when EJ enters.
