Days of Our Lives Recap for Monday, January 8, 2024:
What happened today on Days of Our Lives: Chad confronts Ava and Stefan about their involvement in the drug crisis. Stephanie and Everett share some bonding moments. Tripp is surprised to find Wendy still in Salem. Paulina tries to hide her health issues.
Days Recap Today: January 8, 2024
Chad and Everett are at The Spectator. Everett admits to Chad that he’s not sure if he’s making any headway, but he had a conversation with Chad’s brothers. He saw them arguing and they stopped talking, which raised his suspicions. Everett says that he learned from his research, that EJ was involved in drugs, and Chad acknowledges that it was what got him killed. Everett adds that according to his findings, the back alley of the Bistro, which Stefan owns, seems to be the drug central in Salem. Chad doesn’t think his brother is involved in drugs.
Then, Stephanie comes in with food and is surprised to see Chad. She says she would have gotten him something if she knew he would be there. Stephanie tells Chad that they have a PR meeting. Everett invites Chad along, but Chad declines, saying he has plans. He tells Everett to catch him up on things tomorrow.
After Chad leaves, Stephanie reveals that she got all of Everett’s favorites and he is pleased she remembered. They reminisce about the past and Stephanie says she might go to Seattle soon to see her brother. Stephanie leaves him to finish his work.

Maggie visits Nicole at the hospital to see Holly, bringing a blanket she knitted. She tells Nicole that she started knitting again after Victor died. Maggie believes that Holly will survive and says that she reminds her of her father. Nicole promises that she will always be grateful for her daughter once she recovers. She realizes how fragile life is and that they should pay attention to the people they love.
Nicole asks Maggie if she saw any signs that Holly might be having a problem. Maggie says no and notes that sometimes addicts can be good at hiding their disease. She also suggests that it’s possible that Holly is not an addict and that this was just an experiment. Nicole admits that she doesn’t blame Tate for what happened, but she blames herself for not realizing that Holly was having issues.
Paulina visits Holly’s hospital room, bringing artificial flowers to brighten up the space. She promises to do everything she can to get the drug problem under control so that no more young people suffer from this epidemic. However, she starts coughing and they quickly give her some water. They wonder if she is okay. As it’s time for Holly’s nap, they take things outside and Paulina promises to get to the bottom of things.

Ava arrives home and discovers that Wendy already left. Ava was hoping to catch her to say goodbye. Tripp has Wendy’s favorite scarf. Ava suggests that Tripp can give it to her when he joins her, but Tripp reveals that he has changed his mind. He is no longer moving to China. Tripp is worried about his mom and wants to be there for her. Ava assures him that there is nothing going on and nothing to worry about. However, if he wants to stay in Salem and let go of the woman he loves, she cannot do anything about it.
Ava is tired and wants to go to bed, but Tripp wants to know why she was happy about him going to Hong Kong. He tells his mother that he feels responsible for keeping her safe. Wendy comes back and explains that she didn’t miss her flight but couldn’t go without him. Ava decides to give them some space and leaves.
Tripp seems to have reservations about Wendy changing her mind, and she wonders if he was relieved that she was leaving. Tripp says he didn’t want her to move to Hong Kong without him. Wendy reminds him that she is here to stay, whether he likes it or not. Wendy calls her mom to give her the disappointing news. After that, Tripp tells Wendy that she lights up his life and makes his heart skip so many beats. He tells her that he is more in love with her than ever, while she tells him that he is the man of her dreams.

Stefan calls Gabi on the phone to check in with her. He promises her that they will have an important talk and that he’ll visit her as soon as possible. Unfortunately, before he can express his love for her, the call is disconnected.
Later, Ava comes by the mansion to inform Stefan that Tripp and his girlfriend have decided to stay in Salem. Chad walks in and questions Ava’s visit. Stefan mentions that they have some work to do, but Chad wants to know if it has anything to do with the drug exposure in Salem. Chad continues to probe until Ava claims that she and Stefan are involved in a romantic relationship. Chad warns Stefan that if he is involved in the drug trade, it will end badly for him. After Chad leaves, Ava and Stefan argue about taking their faux relationship too far.
