Spoilers for Days of Our Lives on May 22, 2023: Jada grills Sloan about her possible involvement in Colin’s schemes. Eric gives Sloan an ultimatum. Rafe finds Abe in bad shape. Colin is intent on making Paulina suffer. Nicole is insulted when EJ proposes.
Days of Our Lives Episode Recap for May 22, 2023: Over the Edge!
EJ proposes to Nicole with the intent of upstaging Gabi and Stefan’s engagement She turns him down and he doesn’t understand why. Nicole tells him that she didn’t think he was sincere and that she thinks his motives were just business related. EJ is hurt by this and tells her that he has fallen back in love with her and wants to marry her for the right reasons. Nicole tells him that she cares about him but she needs more time. EJ agrees to be patient and suggests they go upstairs. Nicole tells him she will be right behind him and after he leaves she says that she can’t marry him until she knows who is the father of the baby she is carrying.
At the Salem PD Jada is trying to get information about Colin from Sloan and lets it slip about her sister being involved with him. Sloan wants more information about that but Jada puts her off. Jada gets a call from Talia and leaves quickly. In the lobby, Eric is explaining what is happening with Sloan to Trask and after Jada leaves they both go to talk to Sloan. Trask gloats about Sloan being implicated but when Sloan tells her about Jada’s sister being involved, Trask agrees to drop the charges and tells her that she’s free to go.
After they leave Sloan apologizes for lying to Eric about her brother. Eric tells her that he believes she wasn’t involved but that they can’t have any more secrets between them if they are going to be together. Sloan promises him knowing she is still keeping Nicole’s pregnancy a secret from him.
Rafe finds Abe injured in the bakery and calls for an ambulance. Abe tells him about Colin having Paulina and tells him to save her. Rafe accompanies Abe to the hospital where Abe begs him to find Paulina before passing out. Dr. Hubbard tells Rafe that Abe has a brain bleed and needs immediate surgery. Rafe contacts Theo to give consent for the surgery and then continues to try to get in touch with Jada with no success.
In Colin’s room, Talia finds Paulina’s scarf and realizes he must have Paulina prisoner somewhere. She calls Jada and explains everything when she gets there. They find his photo album and Talia realizes that Colin must have Paulina on the roof!
On the roof, Chanel begs Colin to let her mother go but he is insistent that Paulina has to jump to her death while Chanel watches to atone for what they both did to his family. Chanel tries to tell him what actually happened with her and both of his parents but it just makes him angrier and he says he is now going to kill both of them. Jada and Talia arrive and Jada holds him at gunpoint as Talia begs him to let the women go.
Paulina starts to have a panic attack and passes out. Talia and Chanel want to help her but Colin won’t allow them to. He grabs Chanel and holds the gun to her head. Jada tries to hold her sister back but she runs into the fray to save Chanel and tries to wrestle the gun away from Colin. While they are fighting over the gun, Jada, Paulina and Chanel watch in horror as both Talia and Colin go over the edge of the roof!
