Days of Our Lives Episode Recap November 7, 2023: EJ Has a New Job

Days Recap Today

Tripp consoles Wendy at the hospital after Li dies. They talk about him naming Gabi as the person who stabbed him before he flatlined and Wendy vows she will get justice for her brother.

Paulina sees Melinda in the Square and Melinda congratulates her on winning the election. Paulina tells her that she isn’t going to give Melinda her old job back and Melinda tells her that wasn’t why she congratulated her. After Paulina leaves, Melinda sees the news about Li and gets emotional about it. Wendy and Tripp enter the Square and Melinda offers Wendy her condolences about Li. Wendy lashes out at her for being another woman who hurt Li and Melinda expresses her regret for what happened between them. She tries to tell Wendy that she truly did feel a connection with Li but Wendy is too overcome with her own grief to listen to her. Tripp brings Wendy home and later Paulina sees Melinda and tells her that she just hired a new district attorney.

Days Recap Today

Gabi proclaims her innocence but Harris places her under arrest and escorts her out of the apartment in handcuffs. Stefan follows them, promising Gabi he won’t let her be sent back to prison. Later Wendy and Tripp come home after they get notified that they can return to their apartment. Tripp offers to get them a room for the night at the Salem Inn but Wendy wants to go in. When they enter the apartment and she sees where her brother was stabbed, Wendy breaks down and Tripp comforts her.

Nicole catches EJ on his phone again and takes it away from him. She promises that they will get his job at DiMera back tomorrow but tonight is their wedding night and they are going to concentrate on each other only. EJ reluctantly agrees but then wholeheartedly gets into the spirit of things. They are about to go upstairs to make love when there is a loud knock on the door. EJ wants to ignore it but Nicole thinks it could be Holly forgetting her keys again.

EJ opens the door and they are surprised to see Paulina. She tells them that she is there to offer EJ a job as her deputy mayor and is surprised when they tell her that they just got married. EJ is reluctant to take the job but Nicole encourages him to talk to Paulina and think about it. Later Nicole calls Susan to thank her for the lovely fruit basket she sent and tells her that EJ is not home because he is starting his new job that night.

Days Recap Today

At the Salem PD, Jada tells Rafe that Li was killed and that Harris is bringing in the suspect. Rafe is shocked when Harris arrives with his sister in handcuffs. Rafe is upset and Jada offers to talk to Gabi but Rafe insists that he has to do it. When he goes into the room Gabi swears to him that he’s innocent and very reluctantly tells him how she and Stefan blackmailed Li into signing over his DiMera shares.

Rafe suggests that Li could have framed her for killing him because he was at the end of his rope and felt he had nothing left to live for. Gabi pleads with him to help her and Rafe promises to do what he can but tells her that the evidence against her is strong. Stefan gets to the police station and is very angry with Harris for arresting his wife. He yells at him and Jada and tells them they should be looking for the real killer.

Rafe lets Stefan talk to Gabi and Stefan tells her that he called Belle and she is on her way. Gabi again proclaims her innocence and he believes her. He tells her that she convinced him and she just needs to convince the DA. EJ walks into the room and they want to know why he’s there. Stefan tells him that Gabi’s arrest doesn’t change anything and that he is still fired from DiMera. EJ tells them that he has a new job and Gabi insults him sarcastically. Their moods change when EJ announces that Paulina just appointed him to be the new DA.
