The Days of Our Lives episode for today, October 12, 2026, features Holly opening up to Mason, Kayla giving Brady shocking news, and Kristen and Sophia making a deal in Paducah. Here is our recap, which reveals four big things that happened today on Days of Our Lives.
Key Takeaways
- Stephanie suspects Joy may be faking her inability to walk.
- Kristen promises Sophia the money she owes her.
- Brady agrees with EJ’s accusations against Kristen.
- Holly accepts Mason’s offer to train for mental health hotline work.
Holly Gets Unexpected Offer from Mason

Mason is in the town square when Holly comes along with flowers. She asks if he has a second to talk. Tate told her how the two of them talked when she left the gym. She wonders if he’s sorry for being hard on her regarding the whole Sophia situation. He is!
He offers the whole story of how he got involved with Sophia. Mason had a good friend named Joaquin, and they were in Afghanistan together; he eventually suffered from PTSD and mental illness. It got the best of him, and he died by suicide. Mason wishes he had done more to help him.
However, it was too late to help Joaquin, but he felt he could help others, which is why he became so enrolled at Salem U so he could become a social worker, and he volunteered at the mental health line where he spoke to Sophia. He also spoke with Dr. Evans, who helped him understand why he was blaming Holly.
Holly gets it. She wishes she did differently, but Sophia is gone, and there is nothing she can do about it. “Maybe there is,” Mason adds. He thinks she could help others in need via the mental health hotline. He reveals that he is a volunteer trainer, and he could help if that is something she is interested in. Holly agrees!
Kristen and Sophia Make a Deal
Down in Paducah, Amelia—err, Sophia—is serving tables at a diner. However, the newest guest rocks her to her core. “Kristen!” she says. “I have to go.”
As Kristen chases her outside, she reminds Kristen that she remembers everything and if she goes down, Kristen does too. She notes that Kristen did nothing to save her when she fell into the river, and the river swept her away.
Kristen claims she is so sorry that happened and she is relieved that she’s alive. Sophia is surprised. She figured Kristen’s life would be much easier with her dead! In fact, seeing Kristen made her think Kristen is there to make sure it stays that way. “Are you?” she asks. Kristen assures her she isn’t.
The Deal
Sophia reveals that her surviving was a miracle. When she came through, she was floating in the water; her head was killing her, but somehow she managed to get to shore. She knew she couldn’t go back to Salem since she would be arrested. Since Kristen already set up everything for her to disappear, she just went along with the plan. She had some help, and she eventually talked herself into a job and said goodbye to her old life.
“Well, I did the same thing,” Kristen informs her. She had to disappear because EJ is after her. Well, Sophia threatens Kristen because she never gave her the money she promised her. Sophia threatens to reach out to EJ since he would pay her handsomely for the info. Eventually, the two strike a deal… Kristen promises to get Sophia her money.
Then Kristen gets a note on her phone. It’s about Rachel. She informs Sophia that she is going back to Salem, and if she wants her money, she’s got to come with her. Of course, Sophia is reluctant, but eventually agrees!
Kayla Drops a Bombshell on Brady
At the hospital, Kayla approaches Brady. She informs him that she had a talk with Steve. She reveals that her hubby talked to Johnny to see what info he could get on Kristen. Apparently, it turns out that EJ has been after Kristen because Kristen convinced Sophia to kill his son.
Johnny can’t prove anything, but EJ certainly believes it is true. “I think that I believe it is too,” Brady said. Kristen came to him before she left Salem for him to help her. He saw how scared she was. While he didn’t know why she was running from EJ, he believes this now.
Kayla adds that Johnny says Kristen blamed EJ for what happened to Rachel. Brady knows. He admits he never thought he’d hear himself say his next words: “But I am team EJ on this one,” he says. He calls it sick that she plotted the murder of her own nephew.
Stephanie Catches Joy in the Act
Over at Alex’s place, Stephanie marches in to help after hearing Kelsey crying and no response from Joy. When Stephanie bursts into the room, Joy scrambles back into her wheelchair. She immediately demands to know why Stephanie is violating the terms of the custody agreement.
Alex walks in just as the tension reaches a boiling point and hates what he sees. After Stephanie leaves, Alex draws a hard line with Joy. He makes it clear that this living arrangement isn’t working.
“Stephanie is not going to be an afterthought in any of this,” he notes. He refuses to lose his wife. So he promises Joy that Kelsey will be taken care of at all times, but he and her are going to go on the net and search for a place so she can move out.
Meanwhile, Stephanie rushes to the hospital to consult with her mom. She opens up about what just happened and tells her mom she saw Joy sitting back in the wheelchair. “I’m not 100 percent sure, but I think I saw her move her leg,” she notes.
What do you think of Kristen and Sophia teaming up, and did Stephanie really see Joy move her leg? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
